I cancelled my flight due to Covid-19 outbreak . After several e-mails and Face Book messages no reply . Then addressed to senior Management who in formed me there will be a 14 week delay . Today , I was informed that they do not pay refunds but give 24 month voucher , plus a 10% booking fee .I explicitly informed them I did not want a voucher , yet they keep pushing it . I had to threaten them to make the refund minus the penalties . Stay away , they are claiming they can do nothing about the situation . Very unhelpful and never ever to be trusted again . Had a very long history with Mauritius , which is now gone Totally disgusted
1 Day before I was due to leave - Air Mauritius cancelled all flights due to the lock down- which was imposed by the owner of Air Mauritius - THE MAURITIUS GOVERNMENT - & THEY CHARGED A CANCELLATION FEE OF R2000 - CLAIMING IT WAS OUT OF THEIR CONTROL ????????????????? - THE MOST DISGUSTING AIRLINE EVER !!!!!!!! Every person who I have spoken to on other airlines where flight where cancelled - received a 100% refund of their ticket price - & these where airrlines that where not government owned - AIR MAURITIUS ARE A BUNK OF CROOKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mauritius to London Heathrow This was an unexpected and emergency flight back home due to the Coronavirus and booked at very short notice following advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Mauritius due to the Border closures given the situation. In addition, the Kenya Airways / Qatar Airways flights to Nairobi and Doha / Manchester were all cancelled due to the Coronavirus, as the airlines were not flying on these routes, with no availability to travel until at least mid-April (this now appears unlikely as the Mauritius authorities have imposed restrictions). We were informed this was the last commercial flights to UK from Mauritius, so there was no option but to book and look to recoup costs back from Credit Card company give the crisis situation. This was reflected in the cost of the one way ticket to London Heathrow. Never have I seen Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport so deserted and quiet. However check in was easy. Boarding was a little chaotic, as this flight was full (this was a concern as it was impossible to evidence concepts of social distancing in the flight as would be expected given the impact of Coronavirus, though I wore a face mask for majority of the flight). Cabin crew themselves were dressed with appropriate Protective Equipment (PPE) for the 12 hour flight to reduce risks of infection. The flight itself represents an improvement from the last time I travelled with Air Mauritius some 25 years ago !. Cabin crew were kind, friendly and attentive and service has improved. The meals sadly are of poor quality. Lukewarm, with little in the way of decent portion size (though they provided my Vegetarian Special meal). Bread was stale unfortunately, and the dessert was an odd combination of rice and sugary milk ?? Menus were not provided, which is a shame. The inflight entertainment is ok, and the flight map and routing was good. Unfortunately could not connect to the complimentary WIFI online, as it would not recognise my booking details. In summary, definite improvements noted with Air Mauritius which was welcome. The new Airbus A330neo is a lovely aircraft. Pilot gave timely announcements. Sadly the toilets were not being attended to (perhaps more due to some of the ignorant passengers onboard whom have no empathy for the airline or the crew). The only deficits as mentioned was the meal quality, otherwise it was good. A great shame I could not get a connection back to Manchester (due to the Coronavirus, but good a rental car for a quick 3 hour drive to Manchester Airport from Heathrow to collect my car and get back home). I would travel with Air Mauritius again if need be - most likely from Mauritius to destinations such as India, Malaysia and local regional areas such as Reunion Island, Rodrigues and Seychelles. As for long haul, it’s ok, but 12 hours with Air Mauritius is a bit too much and will revert back to Qatar Airways or Emirates for future travel between Manchester and Mauritius. But in summary, a pleasant experience.
Good service. Food is nice as well. The cabin crew is very helpful and friendly. The little gift given to all passengers on all flights, a pouch containing some travel essentials, was very nice. I used the same airline to return to Mauritius and I had an equally enjoyable flight and good service. The only thing I regret is that the seats are not large enough. Both the passenger seated next to me and myself were medium-sized but we were uncomfortably too close to each other and we had to be really careful to avoid our shoulder/arms touching. It would be great if seats could be a little larger.
Hostesses and food were good in Business Class. Seats not much different to Economy Class. No priority boarding boards were displayed, although present but put aside. As customers lined up to board, the agent told me he would position the boards, which he didn’t do. We then just got in line with the rest. You will be wasting your money on Business Class. It is really not worth it.
Highly recommend traveling by Air Mauritius for its valuable customer service. Staff is very welcoming and good service is provided throughout the flight.
The plane was fairly new and very clean, the service was as expected in Business Class and the food was above average, what stood out were the relaxed and friendly staff, the seats are comfortable and we had a smooth flight
We flew with Airbus A350, which was very comfortable and modern - equiped with tablets. The flight was nearly 11 hours long and it was nicely warm inside - no blanket necessary. The meals and service were great. I would definitely choose Air Mauritius again.
Arrived at Cape town International to be greeted by very efficient and friendly staff. Booking went off well. Moved on to customs and again friendly staff. The lounge was very clean and with a variety of eats and drinks available. I would say it was up to Emirates standards that I have frequently traveled on. On return the plain developed a problem before take off. We were asked to move to another plane but had a 2 hour delay in the airport. This was made more pleasant by the facilities available in the lounge. Time just flew past. Very enjoyable flight with a superior meal and drinks.
Most things were average from the plane to check in to comfort to food to staff but then wasn't expecting much.
Excellent service and food.... would fly with them next time again. Food had a good selection and they keep feeding us and also served drinks few times I was full to death. Crew was fantastic, polite and very active. They have another way to make you welcome (more genuine rather than the superficial)
My best friend and I recently flew on Air Mauritius to Delhi. We were very impressed with the flight and the service we received. The air hosts and hostesses were very good regarding their service. We also enjoyed the meals provided.
Service of good international standard, with good seat comfort. Slightly limited movie range compared with BA and Virgin to oher destinations.
From boarding to disembarking was a great experience. Comfortable seats, nice food and drinks and very friendly and helpfull staff.
Every effort was made to help our comfort on a long overnight flight. A pillow and blanket were provided, along with a bag containing toothbrush and toothpaste, freshener wipe, sleep mask and a pen. The food was fine, not outstanding, but very edible. The staff were courteous. We were in Economy, so it was quite tight for a long flight and there was the usual baby chorus, but they are expected. I would recommend this airline and I’d use it again.
Pathetic service from Air Mauritius staff. U accommodating, very rude, did not attend to certain type of travellers. When tapped by a fellow passenger the hostess shouted *do not touch me*. Definitely will not recommend
A first flight with Air Mauritius and I hope for many more. I was very impressed with service, food and comfort of the A330 which they operated. A very pleasant surprise.....
We had a pleasant flight. The crew were friendly and professional. The food was good. Would use Air Mauritius again.
Enjoyed the flight, spacious seats, good food and customer service. Better than BA by far. A variety of entertainment selection.
Everything was perfect. Food was good. Staff was great. Service was good. Arrival time was great. Plan to go again.
