Reviews
Airbus 330. Newish plane so good flight of 6 hours or so. Toronto check in was new system which entailed putting passport in machine which then printed hold luggage self adhesive labels which you then put on hold luggage then all you had to do was take to conveyor belt where Transat operative scanned each one. Job done as simple as that no Q ing. Cabin luggage was not inspected for size or weight ! This was noticeable on boarding by the number of people taking full size rucksacks to put in overhead bins !
Flight was a good. My wife and I have extensive flying experience with many airlines so feel competent to give an impartial review. The plane was well presented with individual monitor screens. Seats were comfortable and did not feel too narrow. I am 5’ 10” and weigh 100kg. Food was reasonable, way better than low cost airlines ! Cabin staff deserve special mention. A passenger seated in front of us was upset at a meal that was supposed to be pre ordered was missed by her travel agent. No fault of the airline however she demanded to see the on board flight director who handled the situation in a professional and caring way. A master class to watch. Overall as I started a good flight and experience.
Good seat, reasonable leg room for a six footer, great on board service
HELL IN THE SKIES!old plane, bad airbus,it's used to marked as mixed commentsand also 4H and 4C a bit jutsing out,you shouldn't fly this oldie
Flight crew polite and professional, that's the only good point. There are too many seats squashed into such a small space that the cabin crew never managed on any occasion to push their trolley down the aisle without hitting passengers, thanks for the bruise guys. The seats are extremely narrow and I am not of a large frame so forget about trying to get a sleep on a long haul overnight flight unless the seat next to you is unoccupied. The food was typical fare no better or worse than any other . There was no personal in flight entrainment. We would not fly airtransat again, the price maybe lower than some others but the experience on longhand was awful. Good luck to anyone that has booked. Air transat must be forced to look at what they offer and that may only happen when they stop getting bums on the worst seating ever offered. The extra legroom seats offer plenty of legroom not so sure about others, looked a bit tight.
First time that i take an a310, what a nice smooth ride. legroom was ok.
Seats could be a bit wider (guess I would have to book 1st class), the plane going and coming so hot, no air conditioning (maybe supply with hand fans). Staff amazing, always polite and courteous (smile on face at all times). Would be nice if snacks were given out free. Enjoyed the water, but was not the coldest. ?Really didn't quench our thirst. Flight was smooth with little turbulence a plus when we got to leave early.
Trade off between not having anyone in front of you but not having an overhead bin and a TV blaring at you from 2 feet away. They dont dim it so you cant sleep. I would not pay extra for this seat. Also the people in row4 were not happy with their seats. They were really cramped and had trouble getting out of their seats. Just a terrible old plane. Avoid
The front frow of club class has nearly no overhead storage. There is storage for the seondd row and since there are only 12 people in the club class this may not be a problem but it is annoying to have your bags farther back. Since the front row has no underseat storage it is additionally bothersome.
A spacious, comfortable seat in an excellent location: with close access to wc and to exit and excellent for a cabin crew service
The seat is directly under the loudspeaker that sends announcements to half of the economy class. It is extremely loud.
One of the worst flights I've ever had and by far the most uncomfortable. In all we had three flights with Tranat and wil never fly with them again. All three flights were last either taking off or disembarking (no gate, at Toronto!) We had paid extra for legroom and that was excellent but the width of the seats was terrible. Other companies seem to use a 2-4-2 layout giving 8 across. Transats 3-3-3 means there is an extra row reducing the space. At only 5'8" and 170lb I'm not a big person but it still felt very narrow. The flight out was freezing (would you like to buy a comfort pack?) and the one home was uncomfortably hot. Food was appalling and cabin crew surly. (Ugh! They've been on for over half an hour now waiting. I suppose we'll have to give them a drink of water) No seat back TVs . Entertainment could be streamed to your tablet if you had one but there were no seat charging point. Avoid.
Awful seat that has no recline at all!
This seat is a full 4cms narrower than either seat 4I or 4K. It has no legroom at all as there is a 20cm panel in front of the seat and the passenger has to straddle their legs into the foot area for adjoining seats 4I and 4K. There are no individual TVs in these seats. The three passengers in seats 4I, 4J and 4K have to share the single cabin-level TV high up in the cabin (impossible). Seat 4J being 4cm narrower than the other seats is like a small, child seat. The flight was so unconfortable I was in tears on arrival and I am of small build. I paid extra for this seat which was sold as having 'extra legroom'.
If you fly air transat on an a310, choose seats 25-30. First if all, the legroom is way better in these rows, the seat reclines more, and the seats are definitly wider. The legroom was better then the delta a330 i flew on earlier. The legroom is just as good as club class if not better! I would definitly fly them again. Always pay extra for these seats where the cabin becomes more narrow in the back. As long as you pick the window seat or the one next to it, you will have lits of legroom in the back rows, do not pick seats in the middle of the plane, they seem to have less legroom. I would say all of the seats in the window and aisile behing row 25 should be green. My flight was from YYZ to AMS on A310 C-GLAT
I am small but seat is extremely narrow due to imovable arm rests. Very, very narrow and dreadfully uncomfortable. Regret having paid extra. No legroom either.
These seats are a premium as they are two by two and have a little extra leg room. We found them comfortable for the price of the ticket. Still economy though!
I always pay for a window seat, being a litle whide at the sholders. problem with this seat is that the window is not alligned with the seat, resulting in having the colomn between the windows at my sholder. it was impossible to have all of my back in the seat without pushing on my wife And 16.5 seats ? I am not a thin man, but still, my wifes sholders are wider than 16.5 inchs !! Very disapointed in the airbus A310
The Club Class seats and service were very good. I went to see some friends in the back and was very surprised to see how little room there was.
Worst ever journey. These seats are incredibly narrow and with an overweight passenger beside me who insisted on trying to read a newspaper, it was the most uncomfortable I have ever been. There is more space on a subway seat.
