Reviews
The seats were really hard and had back ache within the first 4 hours. The touch screen for the entertainment didn't work and responded really slowly with the handset. The seat area was dirty and the magazines in the seat pocket looked like they had been eaten by a mouse. The crew were really unfriendly and the service was probably the worst I've experienced in years. No choice of main dish - only pasta. Only offered one drink for the whole journey - over 13 hours. No top up of anything. It was worth paying the extra to be able to stretch out the legs, but this was negated by the back ache from the seats. I won't be flying with them again.
Muy buen viaje tanto de ida como de regreso. Super atención del personal. Utilizó esta compañía desde el 2018 y seguiré por sus precios de paisajes.
No space below the front seat
The seat is smaller than the other seats and there is restricted legroom due the presence of an entertainment equipment box.
I am 6’2” and weight 180. This starboard aisle seat has such fantastic legroom and pitch that my legs could fully extended under 21J! Plus, when 21J reclined, there were still 2-3 inches between the setback and my knees. I believe this occurs because there are 1-2 more rows in the middle and port sections. The seats are well worn for sure, but the airline-provided pillow at the small of your back helps considerably.
.
The previous comments was wrong. The seat reclined better than the other row, so I could enjoy good commfortability and the space in front was normal. Though the back was facing restrooms but not feeling noisy and no interference of pepole on que as they are to make line towards the back space of the aircraft.
The seat was very uncomfortable the screen was small and food was cold and very bad won’t recommend
First class travel with Alitalia is really the best and the hostess (both men and women) are really great. When I can I will fly Alitalia!
Economy class. Flying Rome-Santiago-Rome we got the old style of everything on the flight out and were hoping they only have one so old plane. Might be correct as on the way back it was better. On the way back the entertainment box was slimmer, the screen was bigger with better resolution (photos here have both new and old screens - old ones are with remote, new ones with touchscreen). The seat was quite comfortable, but I didn't like the dirty window. For food we could choose between pasta and veg+meat. The latter was tasty enough. Breakfast was one small muffin only though. Headphones, pillow and blanket on both flights.
A seats are not good as they all have the entertainment boxes, take half of the space under the previous chair. But I always want window and am myself quite slim, so it was not that bad. The entertainment system is like from >10 years ago, I didn't even know they still have these old small resolution screens. They do hand out earphones, but mines were too silent, had to put the sound un max for film. And I didn't even finish watching one while normally I watch 3-4 on long fights - the quality was too terrible and didn't bring any enjoyment. Food also could be better. At least the flight attendants were nice.
one of the worst flights I've ever taken. very old plane, not so clean. legs space is stolen by a big box under the seats. the head rest didn't stay up. Entertainment system is completely outdated, small screen with no clear vision, sometimes didn't even work and crew had to reset it multiple time. Headphone connector was not working good, nor the remote control. Avoid this flight please.
Traveling from Boston to Rome with connecting flight to Naples
There is a box under the seat in front that occupies half the normal foot space. You have to put your feet on both sides of the box. The seat itself has a head rest that raises to accommodate taller people. The head rest would not stay up. I had to keep reaching behind me to raise the headrest.
Longhaul Alitalia, very disappointing. Very uncomfortable seats in triple seven Premium Economy. Bar service limited. Only beer and red or white wine. Bar service only offered once and again with meal service. No response to call buttons. Crew seemed not to care less.
Alitalia economy seat B777 200 and service on board is better than 2 years ago, anyway for 14 hours flight at least you will finish tired. Voilà !
Sear belong to the row of 3 in the middle between 2 aisle. Aisle seat. There is a metal box in the place for foots that is very uncomfortable. So it's necessary to put the legs outside in the aisle.
Wonderful seat. Very private, and little to no disturbance from kitchen. (Crew keeps curtain closed to avoid light transmission.)Seat is set well back from the aisle, so there is no jostling as crew passes by. Very comfortable for sitting and sleeping, with room for knees of side-sleepers. Crew was attentive and food was terrific. If you're travelling alone, this is the best seat in the cabin. Only carps are: (1) AC power is provided, but no USB power; (2) video screen is low-resolution and using the wired remote takes some trial and error; (3) seat massager is more of a vibrator. NOTE: Seat Guru map is not correct. On the left side, even rows are closer to the window; and the rear mini-cabin, the last row in Business is 11, not 10.
I flew Alitalia from Rome to Mexico City and back for the second time now. (first in 2016). Nothing has changed. Very old economy cabin. Entertainment system with copyright logos from 2001. No touchscreen, no charging port, only really bad 144p screen with a barely working remote control. Seat was awful, my headrest would keep on falling down which would wake me up when I tried to sleep. Dinner service was good but breakfast and other snacks were disgusting. Unless you are flying higher than economy, then I do not recommend. Also, watch out for seats with limited legroom due to the outdated entertainment boxes with outdated movies.
