5 out of my last 6 flights have been delayed, moved or cancelled. No information, no service. Can't even change their signs to show the correct departure time. NO INFO about anything, and staff more busy playing with their phones. NEVER AGAIN
Will not fly Bankok Airways again - staff at check in were not helpful and have to wait a long time before finding my flight ticket booking. Many airport staff were not accommodating. Will not book transfer flights stop in Suvarnabumi International Airport again. So many good airports with helpful staff, but Suvarnabumi is clearly not one of these after my experience.
We have been waiting for 5 months for our refund of our cancelled flights due to Covid 19, we have been passed from one department to another over these last 5 months and still no refund even after complaining several times, this is not the way to treat customers, no one wants to take ownership of this issue and by reading previous emails there is no care factor from Bangkok Airways.
We had booked on an internal flight for our holiday at Easter 2020. Bangkok Airways cancelled the flights so we were entitled to a full refund. The email stated that it could take up to 60 working days. We are still waiting long past that date and all communication with the airline indicates that my "request" has been passed around every department! If this is the way that Thai people treat visitors then I don't think we will be going there anytime in the future!
Flight cancelled by Bangkok airways. Told 30 days before refund, then told 60 days. Now they say 90 days before I get my refund.
I flew numerous times with Bangkok Airways. The service is good, access to the lounge with food, drinks and WiFi is appreciated. Multi city booking is quite easy. I had a flight cancelled due to the covid crisis, but it was fully refunded within a few hours of the refund request. Full marks on that! They can be a bit more expensive on some routes (where they own the airport), but overall a good company. Some of their special deals can be good value, especially when flying off peak season. They compete with Air Asia and ThaiSmile in the domestic flights, it is then a matter of time convenience when choosing one of them. In terms of comfort, there is little difference amongst those companies, especially when the flights times fall within two hours!
I was on one of the last flights to Chaing Rai It was fabulous. It was so amazing that It was rememberable I visited the lounge it was fun.
Bangkok Airways flight to Maldives I took this flight to Maldives from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport in March and was back with same airline to Bangkok. This was just a week before the lockdown started in Thailand and also same time in the Maldives. Regarding the flight, its a good 4hour flight direct to Maldives airport. Check-in service is good with this airline and also get access to their lounge at the airport although that one is a bit too far from the gates for Maldives. Earlier they did have a lounge located closer but this is not a big issue. Onboard again service is never an issue this airline for me, have taken quite many flights with them on this route only in last 4 to 5years. Menu could be refreshed a bit but not many people take this route often so they may not be worried about this aspect. Overall a good flight and the only other option for this destination from Bangkok is with AirAsia which flies from Don Mueang airport. Also same duration and being a newer airline, the aircrafts feel also the same vs BKK Airways. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g1-d8729031-r756950956-Bangkok_Airways-World.html#
We fly Bangkok Airways, a boutique carrier that offers all the luxuries of old, for very reasonable prices, so for our hop to Bangkok, which takes an hour, we can bring one piece of checked luggage for free! Though I don't even have time to finishing reading the in-flight magazine provided, the cabin crew have time to do a full breakfast service, WITH hot beverages, AND clean up the dishes(with REAL utensils!) before we begin our descent to the airport. And the best part? We have access to a LOUNGE in Bangkok!!! Sure, it may be full of people, the seats aren't super comfy and the snacks provided are basic, but it's INCLUDED in the price of the ticket. What a change from most carriers these days(I'm looking at YOU, Air Canada). This flight was one part of a connection to Chiang Rai, Thailand, both legs of which were flown with Bangkok Airways.
Was delay and old airplane, this was one of the worst trip i have ever had. Was not helpful staff at the check in for ticket. Will not recommend to fly Bangkok Airways. When i fly with AirAsia there was no problem at all, and kind and welcoming staff :)
This was only a short flight to Samui from Phuket. Checked in online and went to bag drop off area which was closed so we had to queue up and drop the bags off at the normal line. Flight was only half full but you can see the crew were not in a good mood on the flight as the food (a bland sandwich) was inedible and the coffee was Nescafe 3 in 1. You only have this airline so they have the monopoly and the price is extremely expensive.
Bangkok to Yangon. Be on time! They fly on schedule, clocklike! Good app for online check-in. Prompt and speed baggage drop. Very clean airplane. Friendly staff, good service. Hot meal on this one hour flight.
Had to exit Vietnam asap due to the Coronavirus situation which was difficult with numerous flight cancellations etc but our travel company sorted out a flight on Bangkok Airways to BKK. Wasn’t expecting a great experience but it was very good all round, plane, flight and service was excellent.
flight left Yangon early arrived Bangkok on time ,baggage delivered fast meal provided in flight , efficient cabin crew, Air Asia and Nok Air are cheaper options. walk up air fare US$125
Bangkok Airlines made us loose around $4000 CAD. We were in Bangkok airport March 24th trying to get home during the Covid 19 pandemic when our flight to Taiwan was cancelled. My wife and I were assigned a Bangkok Air representative to help us find another flight. We were with this rep. for about 5 hours trying to find a flight to Canada. The rep found a flight with ANA airlines and told us to buy it right away before it sold out. We did.... Then she came back and said flight is no good as we cant fly through Tokyo. We tried to cancel, could not. Tried to call. No connection. The Bangkok air rep told us we cannot stay in airport over night and we then had to purchase tickets back to Koh Samui. In the end we found out we could have flown that night and missed our flight. ANA will not refund because flight was not cancelled. When contacting Bangkok Airlines they say it is not there problem and it is an ANA issue,Even though it was their Representative who was assigned to us to tell us what to do and made the mistake of telling us we could not take the ANA flight. A very expensive lesson with Bangkok Airlines.
I especially want to thank Khun Guy at Krabi Airport Ticketing Office for her perseverance and commitment as a ground handling Staff with Bangkok Airways where she gave me extreme assistance. She's a true dedicated employee. I was booked from Krabi to Bkk & connecting SQ979 to S'pore on April 5th, I realized on the day before my departure, Bangkok Airways was grounded and not taking off to Bkk and I went directly to KBV Airport on April 5th early morning hoping to book a ThaiSmile flight to BKK which was departing at 4pm that same April 5th. Somehow, with sheer luck I managed to get a seat with the kind help of Guy knowing that ThaiSmile was also fully booked and that I'm on their 1st priority list. At the same time, Guy also made sure that I'm checked in with ThaiSmile as I need to be in Bangkok to connect my SQ flight back home to S'pore. Simultaneously she also made arrangements for Bangkok Airways Staff at Suvarnabhumi Airport to assist me for check-in with SIA knowing that it was a time-factor that I needed to check-in ASAP as my SQ Departure time was 6.30pm & ThaiSmile arrival Bkk at 5.30pm as I had to clear Customs & Immigration that will consume some time. Overall I made it for my SQ-979 check-in on time with the help of Bangkok Airways Staff at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
After a great flight from Sydney to Singapore and a 2hour lay over in Singapore we were looking forward to arriving in Koh Samui especially as my husband & I had never been there. Our gate for our flight changed 4 times whilst we waited. Once aboard we slowly taxied to the runway. It seemed to take forever but Changi airport is large so we weren’t too concerned at that point. We reached the runway and the plane then meandered back down to the gate with no announcement- nothing! Once back at the gate we were told technical difficulties and would be told more inside. Bewildered passengers maid their way back into the terminal. There we waited. After about 30 minutes we were told the plane had technical difficulties. Our luggage would be taken off the plane and we’d all be transported to a hotel in Singapore at the airlines expense and transferred back in the morning for a 7am flight. Please fill in the paperwork. Not much more was said and there were many questions. Unfortunately not all answered. We then had to walk quite quickly with the staff to customs, immigration and baggage and the buses. We were fed at the hotel which was much appreciated as by now it was quite late. We arrived in our room and asleep around midnight for a 4:30am wake up to be onboard buses by 5-5:30. Our flight was then delayed till 8am. No breakfast at the hotel so you had to get your own at the airport. Once onboard we were served the dinner from the night before for breakfast. The staff spoke little or no English. I had asked for sparkling water if they had some and was given a can of hot Sosa water. The drinks weren’t cold. Would never fly with them again.
Bangkok Airways was a great airline for domestic flights within Thailand. Service was great, booking was easy and efficient. Everything was seamless about this airline. Better than many bigger airlines that I have flown
This airline is the most pleasant of surprises! Not only do they offer a lounge for all passengers before the flight (with coffee, treats and WiFi), they also served a free meal during a one hour flight! A real flashback to the 80’s when airlines actually had good service! I only wish Bangkok Airways flew to the US!
It was a very short international flight (approximately just 37 minutes duration) between Thailand and Cambodia. The check-in experience was smooth and friendly. In terms of on-board service, I can advise that the chicken sandwich was a real winner. I enjoyed interesting views of urban and rural life, as well as the ever-changing sky with it's curious cloud formations (see my YouTube), along the way. It was a joy to fly with Bangkok Air.
