Reviews
Today the flight operated by A332 (reg. OO-SFT) which is 20 yrs old. No personal air supplies over seats, relatively small leg space (I’m 185cm tall so will certainly suffer a bit), seat located just next to a lavatory).
This was a longish flight with total time on board over 8 hours including a 1 hour stop in douala, Cameroon. The business class on Brussels airlines is excellent. Pretty standard LH/ Star alliance product. An almost lie flat thrown seat with the usual sit, lounge and fly position. The food was a choice of lamb or salmon or a veg option. I was a bit disappointed that there was not Belgian steak frites. None the less, the wine was good. The choice if wine was mostly new world wines.
The seat in itself is not bad for economy class..but.. No foot rest Entertainment system somewhat limited Seat did not recline much Food served was insufficient in quantity for a 7 hour flight.
3A should be marked as a mixed review - on the upside, it is a single "throne" seat, with plenty of privacy and wide tables either side, but it comes with a major downside when folded flat. Because the foot-box fits between the double seats in front, it is extremely narrow, low and uncomfortable. I am not even 6' tall, and with the seat pitch, my legs were so far under the seats in front that I couldn't even roll on my side and bend my knees up. I barely slept, which is the whole point of a lie flat seat. Far as I could tell, the double-seats and the throne seats at the bulkheads had much more space. Avoid these seats if you want to sleep!
45H K and 46 H K are blocked (crew seats)
5A & 5K are business seats where you don't feel like other passengers are watching you from rows behind you
seat 1D & 1F have the biggest space available for legs in flat bed position
For dinner they handed out sandwiches (!). On my question if it was spicy and hot, they assured me it was not, although it was extremely spicy (indian) food. But of course they quickly run out of european sandwiches and could only offer indian food. The same for breakfast: I ordered continental breakfast. The purser on board said she would come back in a short moment to serve me. When she did not get back to me and I went to her, she felt sorry to run out of continental breakfast and she tried to serve me indian breakfast again! All this made me very angry and we had a discussion on board ( and I am not the kind of troublemaker usually!). With all my negative experience, I would NEVER fly with this crappy airline again. Moreover, when I asked for a glass of water to brush my teeth, the purser said I should use the disgusting tap water from the toilet! Can you imagine? well, make up your mind yourself, but I really cant recommend this airline.
No AC power anywhere in economy class. Either Brussels Airlines cheaped out or theyre trying to force business travellers to pay for business class. USB charging port isnt good enough for anyone who needs to work.
The 4 seats at the back of the plane are Crew Rest seats.
Great flat reclining seat, in a spacious cabin. However, "single" seats (1A, 1K, 2E, etc..) are superior as they allow free access to the aisles instead of being "blocked" by the adjacent seat (seats 2A, 2K, 4A, 4K).
Row 1 has larger wells in front and is superior to the rest of the cabin. Excellent food and service!
Brussels Airline est la meilleure compagnie avec laquelle j'ai voyagé. Tout était parfait de l'embarquement, service à bord, qualité de la nourriture et divertissement. Le personnel de cabine est attentif et serviable. Ce voyage était super
The seta was great and the entertaiment was OK. The food is very tastefull and a great service from the crew. This is the best company I ever fly since years
The economy cabin is rather inconsistent in seat pitch. Flew on an A330-200 last week. I was lucky to be in one of the 34" economy seats. A similar aircraft flying to Monrovia SN241 was definitely a 32" version. A month prior, SN241 was 34".
Rows 14-17 on this aircraft are now called Economy Privileged aka Economy Plus and cost about 90euros extra. Extra legroom, welcome beverage, travel kit, thicker blanket, Neuhaus chocolates, noise reducing earphones. Extra legroom worth it on a 8 hour trip from Kigali. Rows 18 and back are standard economy and for my six foot frame, leg room is very tight. My knees were touching the seat in front.
Decent amount of legroom because of the bulkhead seat however because of the immovable arm rests the seat is a bit skinny. The screens on bulkhead which show the trip status are pretty bright and a bit annoying when trying to sleep.
Seats 1A & 1K are the best seats in Biz Class, followed by 3A & 3K. Brussels Business class is unfortunately only offered on a daily flight to JFK and a 5x/week flight to IAD. It's truly a GREAT product and the service is better than LH Biz.
2E and 4E are the worst business class seats on this aircraft and should be colored yellow on the seat map. They have tiny footwells. Seats 1A and 1K are the best. They are single seats but have large footwells.
Excellent business class seats. Spacious and really top standard. Flew from Brussels to Abidjan and return. Outstanding service on board. Dinner was served shortly after take off that there was still time left for some sleep.
