Reviews
15D Centre going and 12A window return Business class was great with the fully adjustable to flat seat. Free wifi, inter seat communications via screen if required. (Had family back in economy). Meals were good, cabin staff excellent. Family back in economy said it was the smallest seat they had ever sat in with little leg room. So if your a tall person don't take economy, go business.
Good seat. Plenty of legroom.
TPE - SYD - TPE. The flat-bed seat itself was nice but too short for my 6’8” (2.04 meters) height so it was quite uncomfortable to sleep in fully flat position. And it was a bit hard to get into the seat because the access from the aisle was a bit narrow. The complimentary amenity kit (from The North Face) was very luxury. The complimentary slippers (standard size L) were too small for my feet (size 13). The food was pretty good but serving some kind of wheat buns instead of white buns would be better. Or have both so customers can choose. The onboard Sky Lounge with free fruit/snacks was very nice. The free Wi-Fi in business class after redeeming a complimentary voucher was awesome. All in all I would fly with them again.
Excellent lie-flat seat in business at two thirds of the price of some other airlines. Excellent plane. No need to clamber over anyone to get aisle access. After 8 long distance legs over a 12 month period with this airline it is clear that they are making a great effort to go from "OK" to "excellent". They are hard to beat at the price and are far better than many other airlines at much higher prices.
Flew Chinese airlines to London Gatwick and returned after 3 weeks. One stop each way in Taiwan. Choose this airline on price which was $1700 cheaper than Qantas / B.A. sale price. A 350 new modern exceptional layout. Super quite. Great cabin crew. If I had to make a criticism. Entertainment never changed over my 4 legs on the aircraft.
SYD/TPE/SYD: quite spacious, excellent aircraft, cabin crew very good. Seat somewhat uncomfortable in fully flat position: comfort improves if seat slightly elevated around the head/shoulders. Cabin temperature a little too warm which reduces comfortable sleep in J class
would not recommend this seat. I`m 6`2 and really do not know where to get my legs. Sleep was almost impossible. (there are other airlines close to Taiwan who have different types of seat adjustment) and are more comfortable. Anyway, the service was very good and the choices of food good and tasty! The privacy in the premium class is also highly recommended!
I dont get why so many people are positive about the Economy in the A350 of CA! I did fly 10h+ to Taipeh and it was a nightmare! The seats are by far not as "soft" as they are on many Emirates Planes, and the seating with is unacceptable! It´s so bloody narrow that you need to be in love with your seat neighbor to stand it! I would go so far to say, that the seats are almost as uncomfortable as they are on many Low Cost Carriers! I will not fly with China Airlines anymore, that`s for sure!
Thanks to the naysayers who told me Air China was substandard (not that they'd actually flown with them; their opinions were hearsay), I wasn't looking forward to the flight. Suffice to say Reality:10, Naysayers: 0. The flight was great; I'd rate it 4.5 / 5. Cabin crew, service, food, the seat (almost as good as SIA's business class seat and a lot better than Lufthansa's and United's), cleanliness, and punctuality all spot on. The half-point was lost for the wi-fi (too unreliable to be of any use) and the Sydney and Taipei lounges (reasonable, but more functional than welcoming with okay but not great food).
The seat is at the transition from Premium Economy 2-3-2 to Economy 3-3-3 and the seat sticks out further into the aisle than the seats in front so you have to keep your legs a bit to the side to avoid being hit by the service carts. Also during boarding passengers going by the seat can bump you with their carry-on bags
Although this is a premium economy seat, I didn't think it was that much more comfortable than a economy seat due to the limited recline because of the fixed shell seat design, furthermore the bulky airbag in the seat belt was rather annoying.
First class service first class food
Great flight, great plane with smooth takeoff, flight and landing. Fast efficient embarking and disembarking. Enjoyed the meal and drinks which also were quickly and efficiently distributed. What more can I say, except to add the I would be very quick to book a flight out of New Zealand again with Air China. Thank you Air China.
Very modern seating, large screen but entertainment selection limited compared with other airlines. Excellent cabin staff.
Seat was comfortable for me being a bigger person on the Auckland to Brisbane flight. Very pleasant atmosphere in the cabin, only problem was no choice in meal...chicken or nothing.
Great economy class seat! I only flew 3 hours from Auckland to Brisbane, but would have been quite comfortable on a long haul flight in my seat. Good legroom, wide seat, nice cabin.
It a very wide space to put your stuff it is very comfort seat
Great economy class seat and I am 6´6 tall and still had a very decent 11 hours flight from Vienna to Taipei. Compared to recent Dreamliner flights this is such an upgrade and feels much better. Seats are not as narrow as on 787 and as the whole seat moves slightly in front when the passenger in front of you reclines, you don´t have limited space in those moments. Only thing you should know about rows 71 and 72 and seats D, E and G: there are no overhead bins available in those two rows.
Flew in PE class recently. Plenty of legroom since seats have 39" pitch and a fixed seat back (front sliding seat recline); thus no intrusion from other passengers. Quiet cabin with fewer seats than some other airlines that offer a PE product. Amenity kit, access to snack bar.
Excellent champagne (Pol Roger Rosé) and wines on my biz class AMS-TPE flight. Seat was larger than what I stuffed myself into last week on Swisss 777 biz cabin, but about the same as Skyteam partner Air France. Food was a little uneven, but the flight attendants were obliging. China Airlines finishes on its A350 are superb perhaps the best Ive ever seen on an A350. Overall, a pleasant experience. China Airlines Terminal 1 lounge in Taipei is also beautiful.
