Reviews
seat comfort is normal for KLM economy. The position of this seat is very akward, across the aisle is the storage space for trolleys and personal belongings of flight attendants. Which meant I got constantly bumped into by flight atendents moving, changing the trolleys and getting into their belonings. I would never coose that seat again. Apart from this flight attendents were very friendly and the food was quite good, there is no everhead storage near this seat
Second time BC in the 787-9 very disapointing because everything is a bit narrow, but the worst was my chair so terrible hard, could not sleep at all. I am very privileged to fly BC but almost 14 hours in a chair so hard that i hurt my hips was not a pleasure! Love the crew, very nice people!!! But this was the last time i will fly a KLM 787-9
First trip on a 787 Dreamliner and I was not impressed. The seats are very cramped and it feels like KLM has jammed in an extra row of seats somewhere.
This seat is next to a ventilation grille and I could smell some sort of exhaust fumes through it at the start of the flight. This is an economy comfort seat, but the economy comfort section is no separated from the regular economy section. So, after paying for an economy comfort seat, if there are spare seats here no-one stops passengers who have NOT paid for this seating moving up the cabin. Also I've been on two flights with KLM's 787 Dreamliner and on both the wifi was not working due to "technical difficulties".
A few things... limit storage sofe. There is a decent size locker nedt to the seat but nothing by the legs. Magazine space very limited. There is plent room for a tall passenger to sit with legs extended albeit narrow. The seats are not at all plush. Overall, I prefer the AA product.
The over head compartment is small, the first two middle rows have no over head compartments so they share with 1A and 1K, which if you board at a later stage, you might not have immediate space over you especially if you have more than one bag
Nice! The IFE and the WiFi was a big highlight of the flight, and so was the food. However, when I pressed the service button twice to get a thicker blanket, no one came, so I had to sleep in a thin and apparently cold blanket. Other than that, I can steer clear from negatives.
The seat seems to be old, no much leg space then any other airlines. The movies are not updated to latest ones, either old or average rated films. The food is good, the staff is good
Traveled from Amsterdam to Delhi and this seat is very nice. Economy comfort one is cheaper when you upgrade after checkin opens. You can sit there folding your legs even and still some space will be available for medium built guy/girls. No problems with the electronic equipment. No difference in food. Just the seat is nice ,and cozy place guarded with a curtain.
Armrest does not come up. Stays down.
Just traveled GIG-AMS and was forced to choose 40G & E, 'cause KLM didn't realase all the free seats in Economy cabin; by the way, "congrats" KLM! 40G - awful seat, limited recline, and in addition 39G (in front) has a huge recline, and your monitor is 10 cm from your face. Overall the KLM Dream liner was NOT an impressive aircraft. I wah hoping for something else better than this cheap & regular "bus".
The full flat bed seat is long enough for tall people like me! (I am 6'3") I flew many times bc on several major airlines and this was the first time that I was able to lie down fully stretched out on a flat bed! I think this applies to all business class seats in this aircraft configuration.
Flew Amsterdam to Osaka and back in 14H. I was pleasantly surprised by this seat after reading other comments here about how hard and narrow the economy (comfort) seats are on KLM's 787s. As far as the seat goes, it seemed no different than the economy seats on Delta or other legacy carriers. Yes the 100 euro upgrade for economy comfort is a bit steep for what you get, but being rather tall I didn't regret it. Friendly cabin crew and decent meals both ways. The larger windows and better cabin pressure were nice too. Would fly this aircraft / seat again.
Pitch is nice in this economy comfort row. Rather silent cabin, no noise from the galley. IFE nice. Meal acceptable. The main problem is the seat width : I have been bumped all the flight long by those walking up and down in the alley. My partner had a middle seat and was cramped between me and the 14F passenger.
Very uncomfortable seats in dreamliner 787-9 in economy, extremely hard and narrow. JAL config is much better with 2-4-2. Airco is very poor as well.
Flew business class. Chose 1K bc read the service was slow but the terrible proximity to bathroom was very annoying. I didnt expect so much traffic to the lavatory due to the small cabin but it was like every 5 minutes someone was going to the bathroom! Also i can hear the toilet flushing!! Gross.
The main issue with 14K is if you have wide shoulders like I do, the wall juts out into your shoulder space making it quite difficult to get comfortable. Additionally, the economy class seats are quite hard so you end up having a bit of a sore bum at the end. I don't think economy comfort is worth the price as the seat is just as narrow as regular economy and the extra legroom is fairly negligible.
I travelled IAH to AMS in seat 5k then returned in 4k. The business class seat is hard and is awkward. I would hit my left knee on the round protrusion which is where the seat ahead of me lies down into. The right armrest was very awkward with a curvature which made it hard to rest my right arm. I also kept hitting the seat controls Anyway, a poorly ergonomically designed seat.
Horrible seat. Constantly passengers and crew is bumping into you due to the seat location half way into the aisle. If you are stretcing out, your legs will reach into the entry area of the galley, resulting in the crew inadvertantly kicking your feet. Even the middle seat woul be better.
Was originally seated in 8K, but recline did not function properly. 8G has inward-facing seat and no window, but it was a night flight so not a big issue. Very comfortable seat, easy to use seating controls, power and earphone ports very accessible, and screen easy to use. Even galley nearby was not an issue, and no noise or disturbance. But hope to get outward-facing seat for day flight the next trip.
