All cancelled because of Covid 19
The plane itself was excellent. Very new. Seat pitch was great. My husband had ample space for his long legs. And it was very comfortable. My only comment was that the two restrooms in our section were out of order. There was no water and No toilet tissue. The attendant pushed down the garbage with some kind of wood or metal rod. Then she went into the restroom to install the toilet tissue and clean the restroom WITHOUT gloves! How did she clean her hands? From the washroom she went into the galley! During these sensitive times to hygiene and safety, it was missing at this particular flight.
the seat legrest were not working properly and the table was hard to pull out and put back in. The very helpful and attentive young flight attendant was always helping us with both issues. We were suggested to move to another empty pe seats but same issues. Hope they will fix those issues. Flight attendant assigned to our section was courteous and attentive.
I used boeing 777er on Toronto to Manila and a350 Manila to Toronto. Both have good legroom and seat width. Food has limited choices in economy, so try to use the seats just aft of the galley to get all of your two options. Besides, those seats get served first. Happy flying.
7 k was fine with me... close to the window great for the view... In my opinion you should avoid row 1, row 2 is Ok then all the seats are very spacious.... The seat control is not perfect.... However the lie flat position is excellent for sleeping.... I think the seat is cushioned by air or gel.... excellent for a good rest.... Better than Qatar, ethiad, ANA, Lufthansa business class..... The cabin was perfect for temperature..... So no sweating...... Service was good, maybe the try to be too good and too polite therefore some have a hard time and are not as attentive. IFE was Ok... great touch screen.... the windows are XXL and are so good. Food was also top.... 1-3-5 7 outside seats are a bit difficult to get in and out..... seats 2-4-6-8 have the table on the window side and are easy access to the galley... The middle row 1-3-5-7 are easy to get out.... have a good flight.
The new airbus A350 is so much better. For single travelers it’s perfect to have a single seat and gives much more privacy. Food and service was exemplary.
By far the best flights I have taken in a long time
The economy seat on this new A350-900 was very good. The seat padding was very comfortable for the 17 hour gate-to-gate flight. I wish there was a footrest to make it even move comfortable. I was not bumped from the flight attendants or other passengers so I feel the aisle width is more than adequate. Leg room was very good and there was plenty of space between my knees and the seat in front of me. I am 5 feet 10 inches. The IFE system was amazing - very large screen and the functionality is very good. The movie selection seemed that there were more than 100 movies.
The lay flat seats are amazing, upgraded on my MNL-JFK return flight. The odd numbered window seats are the ones to go for. They are closer to the windows and it makes for a cozier and more privacy when sleeping.
The seat was amazing but passengers well over 6' tall should beware. The bulkhead provided TONS of extra room, no one reclining into you. With that being said, I am only 5'7. Also, the IFE monitor is mounted in the arm rest and must be stowed away during takeoff and landing. It can also get stuck from time to time which the crew will be more than willing to get it free for you.
The newest plane of Philippine airlines,It was a pleasure to have a seat that had more leg room than the A330 class.
Return flight from Manila to London on A350-900 in BC. Crew much more attentive and friendly than on outward flight and nothing seemed too much bother when requested. Four star airline rating probably appropriate, when compared with SQ, Qatar etc., but kind of 'down to earth' and 'human style' service which PAL offered has its appeal - for me at least. Good and comfortable seat, albeit slightly limited storage space in a quiet cabin environment. Food and beverage quality/selection good. IFE quality good, selection however limited. Free in-flight WiFi offering brilliant
I was a first time flyer with PAL on their new A350-900 series aircraft from London to Manila. Nice cabin interior with comfortable 1-2-1 seat configuraton in BC, particulalrly as I like to sit alone when travelling solo Service good and attentive, in flight catering was of a high standard although somewhat limited food choice, but drinks offering was extensive. IFE selection, particularly films, was a bit limited and not the latest releases , but great if you are a fan of 007 James Bond flicks of which all were available.
You cannot lift the arm rest up. So even if there is no one beside you,you cannot have the whole row to sleep
Brand new Aircraft, cannot say hugely impressed, although nice aircraft Business Class pods crammed in Seat control function buttons very awkwardly placed, and as with all Philippine airline flights through Manila landing and taking off just about always delayed, cannot day I have ever bought a multi million dollar aircraft but think Philippine Airlines have taken the cheapest option, which is the norm for them !! All cabin staff busy taking selfies in their new aircraft
