Reviews
Really cramped and uncomfortable. Particularly disappointing as I had chosen SA because they used to be among the better in economy. Am not looking forward to flying them again. Service was good, t hough.
Tiny legroom. Worst I’ve experienced on a long haul flight. Middle section is an inch or two better than the the side sections.
Positives : entertainment system, charging services. Negatives : Very poor legroom, seats really unusable. Grumpy air hostess, did her job but no smiles. I expected a lot from the new A330-300, but the plane is not suitable for air travelbecause of the leg space. Next time to Argentina I fly LATAM. Note the A330-200, even though older, was better. Even the air hostess was better.
The leg space on the economy seats are atrocious, and really hurt my legs. I am 1.82m tall, so tallish, but not excessively so. My knees were completely crushed when the lady in front of me dropped her seat back. Will never fly SAA A330-300 again, on that route will fly LATAM even at higher cost. The A330-200 on the outbound flight had more space and was acceptable.
Frequent flyer previous planes this seat was good. On this is terrible as tin panel for is now on side of seat of no use but crams you in like a cheap Euro trip disaster risks DVT for 11 hour. SAA should TAKE PANELS OFF QUICK get comfort back.
The middle seats are nice when travelling with a companion as it is easier to talk to them but there is also plenty of privacy if you happen to be seated next to a stranger. Service would have been improved if both the middle seats were serviced by the same flight attendant as it was rather annoying that my travel companion received her meal items at different times than I did.
This seat was extremely quiet and private as no one walks by to go to the bathroom since you are the last in the business class. I had my best sleep I have ever had on an airplane in this seat but didn't like how the seat was closer to the aisle unlike the seat ahead which had the armrest/controls/table on the aisle side instead of the seat.
On a daytime flight from JNB to Sao Paolo I took 6A and my husband 5A. The business section was about half full and was accordingly very quiet. My seat was quite private and places for glasses, ipad, water bottle were excellent. There is no storage for even a small bag; everything must go in the overhead bin for takeoff and landing. The seats are a good size but the placement of controls meant I turned the light on went I moved while napping. This is not the only airline with this problem. Staff was pleasant, efficient and the food was acceptable although not as good as on the flight down from IAD. The all aisle access makes this aircraft worth flying - a big improvement of over the 200.
Seat 8A in the front section of the business cabin is a mixed case. It offers excellent privacy, but the proximity of the galley area is indeed disturbing, especially when crew starts to prepare breakfast. What also has to be told: there's a storage closet next to this seat and the crew occasionally need to open this.
The plane is so big and very clean and neat with port to charge phone and the screen is big and respond to touch fast lot of movies to watch and music to listen to the space is not that much i enjoyed the beef choice of food its better than the chicken
Great seat! New plain is giving lot of priviacy.
