Reseñas
This is just a regular premium eonomy class bulkhead set of 3+3 seats with the middle seat not sold. It's not really up to par with most business class seats although it is perfectly fine by premium economy standards.
I would not pay for these, we used miles to get 2A and 2C and ended up sitting next to each other leaving the aisle seat open. As everyone says, they're normal economy seats with one less person. They are partitioned off so there is some privacy. The service is outstanding. There is one FA for max 8 people. The food was top notch. If it's long enough, I could see spending the money but on short flights, it's not really worth the upgrade.
The baggage compartments over lines 3 and 4 are reserved for business class (i.e. lines 1 and 2), so that passengers sitting in these lines have to place their handbaggage over lines 5-6 or even further back. This results in a long wait when it comes to retrieve the bag on arrival. If you're going to pick these lines to quickly leave the aircraft on arrival, you better reconsider it.
Austrian airlines sells economy seats as business class seats. On a 3.5 hours flight from Vienna to Tel Aviv. In any other business this would be called cheating.
I flew Vienna - Brussels on Friday afternoon. Plane was almost full, but not completely. Those seats near the emergency exist have extra legroom, which really make the trip more confortable. In my case, only 2 out of the 3 seats (A & C, D & F) were used in both rows 11 & 12. Maybe passangers are reluctant for handling the emergency exits. Service on board is limited to a (very small) snack and a drink. This is perfectly ok for a 1 and 1/2 hour flight. Friendly crew too.
The business class seat is similar to economy seats on American carriers. The maximum flight time should be 1 hour for this flight. I had a terrible experience with this flight. I was expecting a business class comfort but was shocked. the business class has three seats on each side and the seats are identical to the economy class on same plane. the legroom is also tight could not see a difference in legroom between business and economy.
Austrian airlines reconfigured their airbus aircraft with slimline leather seats. They do indeed give a more spacy interior and legroom at the cost of seat comfort. Tray table is at eye sight. A 2 hour flight is the maximum i'd suggest.
CREW WAS VERY ATTENTIVE. AIRCRAFT WAS CLEAN AND PLEASANT. NO REAL COMPLAINTS OTHER THAN THE LACK OF A TRUE BUSINESS CLASS.
The service was very friendly and good. The seat was satisfactory. The food was nice. I enjoyed my flight
There is nothing fancy about Austrian Airlines. They're essentially a national, low cost carrier. They get you on and off. Nary a smile to be seen on the face of the cabin crew. Some of the 320s have new type seats which place the magazine rack higher, thus allowing a bit more legroom, despite the bone crushing seat pitch. I had the new type outbound to Athens, but inbound was the older type and the seat was not very comfortable at all. Austrian is a cheap, reliable alternative to Ryanair and other low cost carriers for getting around Europe and allows you to earn points with Miles and More. Just don't expect much in the way of onboard service.
