I was supposed to travel with my family in March but ofcourse due to COVID we didn’t . I was happy to credit my money with fiji airways and use it again later . I received an email saying Fiji Airways is canceling all flights and refunding $ Well this was in April . It’s August now . I have written several emails and made several calls only to get a generic answer each time on my refund that it’s in process , it takes 90 days etc . July marked my 90 days ... still waiting It is frustrating to not be able to travel or see my family and more frustrating when we have to chase our refund every week . I didn’t receive any follow up email or call ever and am out of patience at this point. I am talking about US$4700 ! When I called today , the associate was trying her best but her supervisor was too busy on a call to take this request ! Customer service at its best I tell you!! I do not recommend Fiji Airways to anyone
Having a difficult time getting my refund for a business upgrade leg from Auckland to Fiji carrying on to LA that I cancelled due to our government advising to avoid non-essential travel. Recieved a confirmation email from the Fiji Airways website for my refund request that was filled out dated 28th of March 2020. Have been following up with countless phone calls ever since and still getting the runaround. Just called 2 days ago and now told that my request has been lodged just last month!! Really?? It appears that they have no intention of refunding my money or the staff are not talking to anybody and are just towing the company line of "your refund is in progress" More to it but I'd be otherwise typing for hours, I just want their 90 day refund promise honoured!!
Really good on flight food, nice employees, great movies to choose from, and comfortable blankets. I found a great deal on Expedia for airfare and hotel, so I thought the flight was going to be horrible. I WAS WRONG, it was a really easy flight especially for being a long distance.
Flew from Fiji to Los Angela's. First time flying greater than 8 hours on a flight. Flew in the newer A350-900. A nice plane with lots of space and leg room. Staff were friendly and provided everything. Meals and drinks provided which wast expected as booked through a travel agent, so nice to receive. The flight was quiet allowing you to sleep, which I don't normally do. Overall good flight from Fiji to LA and would book with Fiji airlines in the future. Value for money..
Flying from Auckland to Nadi, found the seats to be fairly tighter than expected, but the trip is shorter than I thought (2.5 hours). A bonus was the meal which was unexpected and enjoyed. Service was good and provided the needs as required.
Our first trip to Fiji was 13 years ago when this was Air Pacific. We were excited to learn their new planes would be in service for our flight so we decided to splurge and upgrade for business class on the way to Nadi. We flew business class 13 years ago and the product and experience were worlds different. I had several issues with customer service when booking the flight who made errors and charged them for us. No matter how many calls I made they would not credit us and they never returned a phone call. So this is why they get an average rating from me. The business class on the new Airbus is wonderful. From the food to the comfort of the seats to the service. It's well worth the money. Economy on the way home was something I will never do again. The seats seemed more cramped than most economy cabins, the food was atrocious, and the service seemed very disorganized and took way too long. Overhead bin space was plentiful but the movie selection was old (I'm talking many 70's and 80's films...and business class had the same selection) and very small. It got us from point A to point B but if we go again it will be business class all the way, that's a long flight to be so uncomfortable on.
I was returning home after a dear friend had tragically died and was absolutely devastated beyond belief. The air hostess sat me right at the front where all the staff socialised and ate their meals around me, they did not once think to ask why I was so upset, and when I tried to move to an empty row to have some privacy they (literally) scolded me and made me move back. I ended up hiding under my blanket to have some privacy while I cried and mourned. They made a truly awful time in my life even worse.
Overall, we had mixed reviews for Fiji Airways. We flew from LA to Sydney via Fiji Airways. Following Sydney, we went back to Fiji for a week and then back to LA. So overall, we were on 4 Fiji Airways flights. The staff was excellent and incredibly friendly, a great representative of the Fijian Culture. We flew on the first flight of a brand new plane from Sydney to Fiji and, while they still had a few kinks to work out, the plane was very nice, The other 3 flights there were issues on the aircraft, with the entertainment system. We also think wifi should be a given at this point (acknowledging that they did have it on the newer plane.) Also, the immigration line to get into Fiji, while out of the airline's control, took forever. Overall though, we would fly Fiji Air again.
Nadi to Auckland booked for 31 March. 2 of my flights got cancelled because of the corona virus situation. I explained to Fiji Airways that I cannot fly into and out Fiji anymore because borders are closed and in the future I cannot support the trip anymore but they don't want to refund tickets. They just gave me the amount in credits (the route I booked with them).
Fiji Airways cancelled my flight and will not give me a full refund. I haven't had this issue with any other airline. Very disappointed.
My flight got cancelled and I cannot fly to Fiji anymore... The company don't want to pay the ticket back!!
So many problems and extra charges that I won’t waste my time listing them all. At least 10 phone calls to ask for a refund of lounge passes that we paid for and then upgraded to Business Class. Every person we have spoken to have assured us that they were processing the refund. No refund after 3 months. After all the extra costs for seats that were originally marked ‘free of charge’ we found it was not worth the cheaper airfare we thought we were getting.
Trip from Syney to nadi and then Nadi to Tavenui Island Exceptional service and food. All flights were exceptional . Small plane flight brilliant. No rough weather. One of last flights out before Corona virus shutdown.
I have been a frequent traveler around the world for 2 decades, and I've definitely had some $#!& experiences, but my experience on Fiji tops the charts. To be fair the actual flight was fine, but the airport counter closed BEFORE the cut off time and no amount of pointing to both the CLOCK and the TERMS AND CONDITIONS where it clearly noted that I could check-in and board ONE HOUR prior to departure was able to sway them from leaving me stranded in a foreign country (I was actually at the airport 3 hours beforehand, but the rental return counter was backed up, that's another story). The counter woman literally WALKED AWAY from me while I begged her for help. Online check-in 2 hours prior was impossible because they could not find my itinerary even after I called their customer service line. When I finally was able to get on a flight, someone in baggage handling wrote with a black marker on my luggage ALASKA (the airline I was transferring onto for my last leg).... WTF? Isn't the tag sufficient? Then I discovered that my luggage was so poorly handled that it was broken at the bottom and the manuka honey had carried had leaked all over my clothing. Right after I picked up my luggage at customs in LAX, I went over to the Fiji baggage staff, and they literally told me that they can't handle this that I need to contact customer service when I arrive at my final destination. And when I spoke to someone in Seattle (my home airport a few days later), they told me they can't do anything and that I need to talk to Alaska. WTF - Alaska didn't even handle my luggage.
Fiji Airways in collaboration with Biosecurity Authority of Fiji and Fiji Immigration officers steal from the good of tourists alone at the entrance in Fiji (Nadi) and when leaving Nadi to Singapore they are blocked by boarding ( in the boarding area) and threatened with high court and the police if they not pay a fictitious additional transit fee of 400$ in the accounts of BAF (Nadi)! Ordinary theft and abuse of the authorities of Fiji! Justice!!!
Any attemp to contact the respective authorities will result in the absense of any response from them.Basically the tourist is treated with contempt after the money is taken.Justice!
Sydney to Labasa via Nadi. I had connecting Flight to Labasa from Sydney, which meant I had to check out x2 and check in x3. Fiji Airways informed me that my luggage will be transferred and I can pick them up in Labasa when I landed. I had 23kg check-in and 7 kg carry-on. However, this did not happen as I was told that I had to check my luggage out each time and check them in making it impossible to buy some water or even go to the toilet at the airports considering I had to check in at 4:15 am. I was due to return on the 31st of March but due to COVID we had to change to earlier date flight which was then 22nd March. The airline demanded that we pay quite a bit extra to have the flight secured. Lucky for me that my husband checked my flight back time on line and saw that it was cancelled. We did not receive any email or phone call from Fiji Airways for cancelling our flight. When my husband rang customer service at Fiji Airlines he was told that my flight had been rebooked for same day but at 1030 am from Nadi to Sydney. How stupid can anyone be when my flight was from Labasa lending at Nadi at 1:30 pm and I had to catch a flight to Sydney at 1030 am with the same airline company. When my husband pointed that out then my flight was changed to Virgin at 1800hrs. Not only Fiji Airways caused all this problem and hassle but also booked me on a cheaper Virgin flight back to Sydney with horrible, salty and tasteless food with no bread and dessert (at least I could have eaten that) but also kept the difference of the price. I am ashamed to say that I was once proud of this airline where I am originally from.
Like transit tourist very bad company. After the stop în Nadi for the trip Nadi - Singapore the Fiji Airways personnel block boarding pass from the plane until you pay an extra fictitious additional fee of 400$.Thieves on the high road !!! You practically pay (to Fiji Airways) for another round -trip Nadi - Tarawa that you didn't make!!!
Booked round trip for two Seattle to Fiji. Blew it, left one letter off middle name of one passenger. Didn't want to mess with customs. Long and short of it, Fiji Airways charged me $130 correction fee and fare change increase of 314.10, a total of 444.10 to add that missing letter. Same flights, same dates, same seats. There were lots of other small details that give me pause as well. Sent complaint via their system. Received confirmation of complaint. Told that they would respond within five days. This all seems crazy to me in light of small error(one letter), simple and quick time to fix(booking agent took way less than a minute it seemed), and ticket price available on their website today, six days after change made, at 138.02 less than my original price, a variance of 452.12. Looking forward to a responsible resolution.
This was a refurbed Airbus 330. I kid you not- you could not reach the back of the seat in front of us. Add in great food and drinks (Fiji rum of course) and you've got the recipe for a fantastic travel experience.
