Thai Airways

My Experience with UK Reservations for their assistance to rebook my ticket has been dreadful. I initially bought my ticket last Feb 2020 through travel Trolly but they were unable to rebook my ticket because Thai Airways increased the service level. So in order to rebook my all ready paid ticket I’d have to pay an additional £175. This I regard as disrespectful to paid customers. A business move to intentionally profit from this crisis. I complained to UK Reservations and after being ignored and messed about for 2 months I decided to ask for a refund. I instantly received a reply to say they would arrange a flight for November and would confirm in a few days. A few days went by and all requests for an update ignored. Just a delay tactic. A month later I asked again for a refund and the UK Reservations replay regarded me as Pathetic, and the next day received a further insulting reply gloating I would have to wait a long time for my refund. The service of being ignored then Messed about, ignored again and then insulted I have received from UK Reservations means I will never use Thai Airways again and advise everyone to do the same. This is no reflection on the cabin crew who do an amazing job.
Staff absolutely friendly, helpful and professional. Very good choice of food and beverages. Airplane was on the time, cleaned and comfortable seats!!!! Good entertainment and WiFi!!! For me : perfect!!! P.s we flew firm London to Phuket
I found Tahi Airways a great way to travel from hong kong to pukhet. The staff were very friendly. I found the IFE systems very good, the selection of movies are great - they even include movies that have litrally just come out. I would highly recomend this airline.
5 months on from issues with our flight.. multiple calls and emails... Not a single response from Thai airways to give a refund. I would never use again and would urge others to stay away. Disgusting company with no care at all for their customers
Booked return flights, Thai canceled them, and are refusing a refund even though it is a requirement to do so within 7 days. Bunch of thieves will never fly Thai or visit Thailand again.
Stating after flight was cancelled will take up to 180 days for reimbursement and not 7 days as they are required to by law. Will never use them again. Just want to keep cash for as long as possible. Rather pay more money and fly with reputable company.
Bangkok to Rome in January 2020.. I used my Royal Orchid Plus gold Frequent-flier upgrade to fly business class on this flight. I had reserved the meals onboard before checking in, as Thai have a small menu for business class fliers to choose from. Check in at Bangkok airport was very well appointed, with sit-down check in desks at Row A in Suvarnabhumi Airport. Even though they’re not part of the same alliance, they even checked my luggage through on Alitalia. Private security and immigration for biz/first is such a treat, i was through in seconds. Then you’re directly down an escalator to the Royal Orchid Lounge. It’s an amazing lounge, they even include a 30 minute free massage for biz passengers, and I recommend heading to the spa first thing before heading to the lounge to reserve your spa appointment. Boarding was done by bus and stairs, and we pushed back on time. Before pushback a flight attendant came around and greeted us by name. She confirmed my meal order and asked my mum what she would like for dinner. I found out from a friend flying to Brussels that all flights to Europe get the exact same choices when he sent me a picture of his dinner. Some interesting welcome drinks were bought to you, a choice of tamarind ice tea, champagne, and a Thai floral drink I cannot remember the name of. All flights had a very light load, and I switched seats for sleeping/eating. The first course was foie gras terrine, followed by a Thai main course which I preordered, spicy shrimp coconut curry, served with a beef pho-style broth, and steamed veggies. It was just what I wanted. Comfort food. There was a small dessert before I dozed off. Before landing the flight attendant woke me up and promptly served a plate of cold cuts and cheese, but I wasn’t full so I asked for the Thai breakfast, boiled rice soup with Shrimp and pork meatballs. On the return flight I had a veal dish for lunch, and Thai style omelette with boiled rice soup and chicken for breakfast, the veal dish was quite exquisite but the breakfast is easily described as comfort food for me. The new dishware is quite bleak. Service on the flights were immaculate. Very prompt as you should be on a late night flight, a full meal service finished an hour after takeoff. Day flights are a little less rushed. The flight attendants are courteous and professional. The seat is very comfortable and Thai provide a mattress cover which makes the bed more comfortable. The footwell is also quite large. Ground service in Rome was very nice, the Alitalia lounge was very good. However I’d recommend taking a detour to the D gates and going to the Star Alliance Lounge in Fiumicino Airport. It’s got very nice views of the airport. Overall I cannot fault Thai Airways product.
Cancelled my flights and emailed to say I must wait over 6 months for my money. They are using my money to pay off their fat cat execs. Unforgivable!!!
Flew Y back from Phuket to Bangkok. Flights almost completely full. Good flight in the back of the plane, comfortable seats.
There is excellent service, punctuality, delicious food, lovely welcoming staff, friendly There is a variety of entertainment on the personal TV screen. Impressed every time I walk with Thai Airways and confident that every time I travel to travel with Thai Airways again
The best part of flying business class with Thai Airways from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport was the designated check-in and fast track security and immigration clearance. It took me less than 10 minutes from the time I stepped inside the airport to the time I walked into the lounge. For this I am giving them a rating of 4/5. As for my inflight experience, my departure was around midnight so the crew had to rush us through the first meal so passengers can start sleeping. Food was surprisingly good especially the pork in coconut curry sauce. The business class cabin was a 1-2-1 configuration with flat bed seats that were comfortable and lots of legroom. Wifi was available for free but limited to 20MB, which lasted like 10 minutes for me. Service was polite and professional, as expected, but no wow moment for me to rave about.
I am a diamond star alliance card holder and have flown with Thai Airways more than 20 times in business class. My last trip from Copenhagen there was a problem where they had to change planes so in business class the seat did not go down and there was no entertainment system. BUT i have flown 100s of time so I can understand that these things happen. What I cannot accept is that I get promised by the staff two times of a simple thing like I can visit the first class lounge on the way back. I have this both written confirmation and from the ground staff in Krabi. It is a small gesture that made me happy but ended up chaos. When I came to the first class lounge late at night the staff told me that they know nothing about it and sent me away which was embarassing enough right there. But what for me gets worse and I write to customer relations and even though I have written proof I get a note back from Parpassar Thamasakjinde who is there customer service manager saying first that fist they will not acknowledge my complaint and do not believe me. Thereafter I sent them the documented proof and I received a note back from her saying more or less thanks but were going to do nothing. What irritates me so much is the arrogance. I have never complained in the last 10 years flying with them in Business class and the first time I do there is NO trust in what I say and even after I give them proof it is a tough luck. Well lucky for me and others there is alternative ways to fly to Thailand and I really sorry that you were not more humble to a good client.
I spent more than £3000 on flights for a dream holiday in January - after the cancellations back in March i have not been able to contact any of the listed numbers (London number was disconnected!!) and cannot get a refund. Thai have my money and i have no way to get information. I strongly advise that you look for alternatives before sending money to Thai airways. I am now pursuing them through other channels
Travelled on Thai on my trip from Singapore to Sapporo transit at Bangkok. Not such a good start as the flight to Bangkok was delayed. As researched, it was a common issue and I booked tickets with plenty of leeway time during transit just in case the delay happens. The delay occurred again on my return flight back home from Bangkok to Singapore. Other than the delays, flight was good and normal. Food could be better on both legs of the journey. Really hope they stay afloat after news of them not doing so well financially as i would definitely travel with them again.
I have a very good experience with Thai Airways Ticketing Officer in London , Ms Yaovaporn Suttahasan, Ticketing Supervisor in UK . She is fast response and give a good advice and I am sure she give to all passengers who have panic and frustration relate to COVID-19 in UK at the moment. I hope Ms Yaovaporn still continue to work with TG for a long term at least to help Thai Airways to reach to a world class again sooner.
Great service, staff is extremely polite, food on board tastes good. Quick last minute check-in for business class.
Bangkok to Bali on Thai Boeing 777, the plane seat was very comfortable the food was great. I also had a time to use the inflight entertainment. Sadly, the flight time to Bali was only 4 hrs. The cabin crew welcome us onboard with smile.
I thought this is a five stars airlines but their customer service and back end service is event worse than a three stars airlines. Call for so many times, waiting for more than an hour and there is nobody to answer the call. The refund processing is taking way too long (more than one month) also, how can i trust you anymore?
It seems like Thai (at least on their 777s) has the most legroom in Economy class compared with many other airlines. The food was also quite good for airplane food, slightly spicy though. Service was a mixed bag, outbound flight was rather mediocre, return flight was great. The inflight entertainment was the only letdown.
TG use to be very good from LAX - BKK non-stop, good food , good seat. Only 1 flight a day and very good, later TG cut flight in half and ..... STOP completely. Now no TG to US ... From LHR - BKK is not good , bad seat, bad services. Food and services below par worst than most. No wonder why TG is losing money every year.
