This seat is OK. There is a box under the seat infront, which takes away some legroom. I believe it's to do with the entertainment system. Personally I would prefer them to get rid of the entertainment system which is only good for the flight map and tailcam (you can get the flight map on your device) and I'd rather have the legroom. However 22D is better than 22E which much room legroom is taken away by these spacewasters. Don't these airlines test their seat configurations before inflicting them on their customers?
I agree with other reviews that the design of this seat is poor, much worse that previous Virgin seats (which I thought were good). The access is really tricky, and getting in and out is very difficult other than the upright position. The seat operation buttons are in exactly the wrong place and it's near impossible not to catch them with your elbow, and very frequently. But, worse than all the other issues is the location and deployment of the tray table. It very difficult to sit in the seat with the tray table down. I have a largeish belly and found it quite painful to have the corner of the table stick into me so much. I'm really disappointed, I know Virgin put a lot of money into this new seat - but it's so poor that I've ensured my next Virgin flight is on Delta aircraft to avoid this design.
I agree with others: I booked this flight to fly the new 350, instead of the 330. The next time I flew, I went back to 330. The seat was terrible, so uncomfortable and hard to adjust. I couldn't get the seat in sitting position with my feet elevated. The bed was narrow. It's almost impossible to get in and out of the seat unless it's in the full upright position. The tray table is so large and leaves little or no space between it and the passenger. The TV monitor is far, and the staff advises synching your phone to operate it. The privacy partition is narrow and does little. Who at Virgin Atlantic thought this was a better seat?
Wickedly uncomfortable seat, no storage, table configuration is horrible, seat is so hard. Looks nice, but that's about it!
MUCH improved Upper Class for Virgin. Sat in 2K as traveling solo which was the right choice for any solo traveler. Seat is definitely a little bit tight with lack of storage. Tray table is awkwardly placed and hard to use unless seat is in full upright position. Overall very comfortable for the 7 hour journey to NYC from London. Great improvement for Virgin but, not perfect.
The inflight entertainment system is a big upgrade over the A346 and A333. Premium check in and fast track worth paying up for. Beware that they store these huge cot like bassinets over seats 27AC so that overhead bin is not suable by those passengers seated there. Overall seat was comfortable and enough room. There is less elbow room between the seats than on the A346 but luckily we had a small passenger in the next seat,
