Very comfortable
I had the "window seat" 8K from Toronto to London for an overnight flight. There was not a window. Instead it was a wall. The window seats in the rows in front and behind all had windows. Since it was overnight, I fell asleep against the wall and slept fairly well for sleeping on an airplane. I thought the seat was spacious and comfortable, but I am 5'2".
We chose these seats in advance for a fee so that we were fairly near the front and sitting together. I like the leather seats and the fact that each row has 2 seats at the window, 3 seats in the middle, 2 seats on the ther side. The middle bathroom is roomy compared to many other planes’ toilets. We didn’t use the entertainment streaming service. Staff were very helpful, especially when my husband had a sort of panic attack.
Great seat, amenities, legroom, comfort.
Although WestJet's B767's are old aircraft, they were well maintained in the cabin. The premium economy seats were old style business class seats re-covered in blue leather and were quite comfortable for the 9 hour flight. Legroom was decent and the recline was generous. There were 2 flight attendants dedicated to the cabin and were very friendly and efficient. WestJet Connect, the streaming on-demand entertainment system, worked really well and had a huge selection of movies and TV shows. The meal was business class quality, as were the wines.d
WestJet advertising of the economy seats is misleading. No laptop power, only USB. Seats are uncomfortable and restrictive even to a 5'8" slim male. I couldn't even grab things off the floor once the seat in front of me was reclined. When attempting to use my laptop(on battery) I couldn't open it all the way and it was digging into my midsection. Unless you happen to be a child, a contortionist or normally have no feeling in your extremities be prepared to be sore after 9 hours. Also, bring a tablet or your credit card(to rent one of theirs) because you'll also have to pay for any food which many people were surprised to discover. If you do pre-pay make sure you do it more then 48 hours before your flight out or it will default to your return trip. WestJet is the NEW no-frills pay-for-everything experience.. I shudder when I imagine what their new low-cost airline will provide.
There is room for knees, but no space to stretch out legs, as there is a bulkhead that goes right to the floor. It actually may be worse than a regular seat where you can put your your feet under a seat (all seats in 17 have this issue). Also, the curve of the cabin makes this a small space. Very poor.
In the Economy Plus section, seats are comfortable, service is good, and meals are adequate. Unfortunately, foot space for all of the Economy Plus seats is severely restricted by a six-inch wide box that presumably contains some kind of electronic equipment. Weirdly, these boxes are not present in the Economy section.
This is a good seat, used it many times between Calgary and Gatwick. The row in front 1 is good, however, the bulkhead is a little to close for a 6 foot person to stretch out the legs. K2 is good for sleeping, but getting in and out is awkward. An older plane, the seats are very comfortable and great for long naps. The WestJet plus crew are splendid. Just returned from this return trip and the trip was less an ordeal, more a joy!
This is a great seat - you get a huge amount of leg room. As a result I slept well (as did my wife and daughter next to me). And getting off was really quick as well (unlike being in the front row of economy in BA, where there are many pax nearer the door).
18D is a complete disaster. It's labelled as an extra legroom seat and WestJet will charge you for it, but the bulkhead wall is right in front of you. As such you CANNOT extend your legs. Legroom is much better anywhere else in the plane. In addition, the proximity to the bathrooms mean that you'll constantly have the smell of urine in the air, as well as people thinking its OK to ask to cut across your legs to get to the other side. I will NEVER EVER order these seats again.
Seats 5A and 5C have excellent leg room for an economy row, with storage space under the row in front. The row in front is too far away for a traditional fold down tray, which therefore comes out from the arm rest. Not as good as a fold down tray, but worth the sacrifice for the super leg room (and I'm 6' 2"). Couldn't get Westjet Connect inflight entertainment to work on my Chromebook, but had movies stored on it already.
There are powered USB ports on this plane.
First time on WS, was very impressed, service was great, seat comfort very good recline good in flight ent excellent and free. Cant wait for my next flight.
I do not understand why Westjet marks this as a less desirable seat. It has much more leg room due to the exit row, it reclines fully, the seat in front DOES NOT recline which adds to your space AND you are among the first handful of passengers to get service so will always get your first choice of meal. It's the best seat you can get without paying to upgarde. Only possible knock is that the proximity to the emergency exit makes it a bit cooler - so just wear a sweater.
Extra charge for the Comfort Plus seats is well worth the cost. Excellent value and great seats for the flight from Toronto to London Gatwick. Comfortable seats considering the overall cost of the flight and the service was excellent.
Proximity to Economy Plus section gives you a little more leg room, but no bulkhead means that when 4H reclines, you have very little room to move. Also, the curtain separating the two compartments hangs in your leg room space. When the attendants go through the curtain (which is very often) the curtain gets thrown in your lap (actually hit me in the head one time). WestJet Connect is good when it works, but on a full flight, you get significant delays or outages. Not to mention video is paused every time the attendants get on the PA system (which is significant because of the WestJet Banter and having to say all announcements in two languages). Bring your own movies to avoid frustration.
Worth the price to upgrade to premium plus on larger jets
I flew YYZ - YYC in Fbe 2016 on this aircraft and was very impressed. The aircraft was immaculate, in-flight service was efficient and the crew was amazing, as always! It was my first time using WestJet Connect and I was very impressed! I watched three episodes of Game of Thrones and an episode of "The Mentalist" with no issues. My only suggestion would be, because the IFE pauses for announcements, to play them through people's head sets so they don't have to remove them over and over for 10 seconds here and 30 seconds there. There was plenty of overhead space and the 110/USB outlet at each seat was awesome!
Flew Maui to Calgary 02/16. This row was very cold & we couldn't turn the air off. Uncomfortable cold all the way.
