Great seat. Westjet have really outdone themselves with their new Business Class service. If someone brings a baby into Business Class (boo! hiss!), they tend to sit in row 1. Seat 3K gives a wide enough berth, without being right beside the galley/toilets.
Seats so tight that if person in front tilted seat back I could not focus on screen without headache from eye strain. Will never fly this airline again. If you must pack us in, please remove tilt back feature as it is inhumane.
This flight was a makeup for a cancelled flight the day before (plane needed checkout after lightning strike on the ramp at YYC). The plane itself provided a nice, smooth ride and it's nice to see the setback entertainment system restored. However I feel that the seat was perhaps 1/2" narrower than I am used to on the 737 (which we flew to Scotland, returning via Gatwick/London) and I only had a finger's thickness of space between my knee and the seat in front of me. If the person ahead tilted their seat at all I could not open my tray. My wife in 23J also commented that it seemed "tighter than normal". I am 6'3, 215 and my wife is 6'0. There is no opportunity to adjust the air circulation individually. Washrooms seemed adequate for the passenger load with little waiting.
Great all around. The plane being a Dreamliner is new as are the pods in business section. I was flying Westjet and can’t say enough on the courtesy and efficiency of the flight crew
In the forward economy section behind the first row of exit seats there are 5 rows on the left and right side, and 7 rows in the center that are extra leg-room seats with 35" pitch.
Seats 1D, 1F, 2D, 2F do not have overhead storage - the bins above these are reserved for aircraft equipment, so you must share overhead space with the window seats in rows 1 and 2.
First off, I love WestJet. I had the pleasure of flying this aircraft on its first ever flight from Toronto to Calgary. I'm only about 6 feet tall and not particularly wide, but I must admit that the 3x3x3 configuration of this aircraft is very tight. I had decent enough legroom, but I sat with one shoulder on the wall and the other shoulder on the person next to me. It was a great flight and the service was incredible, but I'm a little disappointed at how little passenger comfort was considered when designing this aircraft.
