Cons:Seats are not private at all. You constantly look at the person across the isle. Cabin feels crowded due to seats facing aisle;this was a 3 hr flight from AKL to Syd, could not imagine taking it across the pacific. Pros: Service and flight attendants excellent as was the vod.
I found this seat very comfortable and can not praise the this airline enough for the very high service standards.
Thank you for being such an attentive crew. All my flights with Air New Zealand are superb.
We had 57 A& B on the way to Hong Kong from Auckland and thought that 58 seats would be ok. Big mistake! They don't recline as much and when the person in front reclines there is no legroom. Having two seats without an extra as a couple is good but don't choose the last pair in the plane.
Seat is great with plenty of room and when it is time to sleep, for a tall person it was fine. Always plenty of food and liquids available from attentive and helpful crew. Touch screen is one of the best and much quicker when compared to other Business Seats on other airlines
This is a lie flat seat. I'm a tall and large person but still found enough room to be comfortable. If you're over 2 meters it may be a little less so. Service was excellent as you would expect.
Good seats not to far from exits
My worst ever trip after paying the extra to upgrade to Premier seats. The flight was the coldest ever and we had to ask twice to turn the heating up...to no avail as we shivered for hours. As for the staff well, the guys name began with J and he was like something out of dads army. He was abrupt, never smiled and shook so bad serving drinks he spilt them. This after treading on my wife’s foot , without a sorry! He learnt across people whilst they were eating and why oh why Airnz employ such poor staff on long hall flights. Then, we skipped dinners as it was 1.30am. So hungry and looking forward to breakfast I had the worst breakfast ever. A roll cover with water eggs and although I searched for the corn beef hash this was no where to be seen. Thus capped off a dreadful trip with Airnz in honesty and they will certainly not be top of my list in future long haul.
As a family of four we shared the middle seats in row 36. We paid extra as they were preferred due to location and slightly more leg room. I managed to get a good nights sleep and they seemed fairly roomy for ecomony I am just on 6 foot so not overly tall but could stretch out ok and the seat wasn't too thin. I had recently flown on Hawaaian airlines in one of their extra comfort seats and found this seat was better.
Business class seats probably worst I have flown. The herringbone configuration is such a bad set up, esp if near a window. They actually face away from window and then one has to watch all the other passengers legs/feet opposite. Very annoying. Seats are tight too. On way to USA from Auckland they replaced with EVA plane (Taiwan) and business class seat much better.
I was my first flight in a Boeing 777-200 I Found the aircraft comfortable as a wide body jet. I did however find air conditioning vent to high to adjust without asking others to move in the middle section seating
Last seat in Premium Economy is the worst. Felt like downgrading to economy mid-flight. You're served last (i.e. you get whatever is left after everyone has selected their meal), your neighbor in the aisle seat has to put away their table in order for you to pass, screens aren't private so forget about watching anything decent next to a kid. Go business or economy. Skip Premium Economy!
Air New Zealand are leasing a "scrapyard" Aircraft 772 from Seattle. They are running this Aircraft on the Sydney - Rarotonga dn Auckland flights. This Aircraft has "Beetlejuice" as the latest movie, along with "Back to the Future"! The seating is not even Premium Economy standard, mine broken, flying Sydney to Rarotonga. they should NOT sell Business seats on this decrepit Aircraft. NO Premium Economy on Board. The standards of the crew, attitudes, meals and rude could not be bothered overnight flight were atrocious. Unlike i have ever received before from Air NZ. Travellers should avoid this aircraft and flights, and NOT accept this aircraft, change to another or carrier. The standards have dropped dramatically from all i know colleagues and friends, from NZ, and Australia, on this Airline. I will not be choosing them again.
Great padding on seat. Good size pillows and blankie . What Air NZ excel at is this PE . Food outstanding for a PE experience as is service from staff as per usual Air NZ high standards, friendly and professional. No one in seat next to me so no disturbance for loo but great pitch so no problem there.
The economy seats are extremely narrow, pushing passengers on top of one another. I paid an additional $100 (per booking) for extra legroom but the additional couple of inches was pretty much pointless since I was forced to (quite literally) rub shoulders with the person in the seat next to me for the full 13-hour flight. It was excruciating. I don’t eat meat because of the way animals are treated. Air New Zealand makes its Economy passengers pay for the privilege of being packed in like animals going to slaughter. One additional point - Air New Zealand does not provide a vegetarian option on its flights. You have to make a special request for it ... This was a first for me.
These seats are worth each penny they cost. It was indeed possible to have a good rest on the long flight AUKEZE. Practically, it's the same thing as traveling in the initial business-class seats that emerged 30 years ago on DC-10 and 747-200 aircrafts. Even better.
Comfortable seat, with minimum disruption from other passengers. Mid-cabin configuration means that other Business Premier passengers either move to the front of the aircraft for restroom, or to the restroom between Business Premier and Premium economy - meaning generally they won't pass your seat. This seat also has views from two windows, one ideal for the lie-flat configuration and the other for the seated configuration. Cabin service was excellent, with the typical semi-casual Air NZ friendly approach. Good meal and beverage choices, with the only are for improvement being the poor filter quality that probably suits North American tastes more than continental.
The water offered from the water bottle tasted just fine, but the water offered during the flight from the water jug tasted really strange so won't be having water again.Japanese stewardess always smiling and pleasant.
A very comfortable seat in a good position. However leg rest was difficult to operate and had to get help along with recline. Safety belt could also do with a little extra length for larger bodies and to put atop blankets.
Seat has: - On-Demand T.V - Power (USB connection) - Audio - AUX hole for own headphone (headphone provided) The seat is in a good position. But you cant both people behind as no one sits behind.
