This is a great seat! Lots of room in front of you, so it is no problem to get out without bothering your seat mate too much. The only downside is that the IFE screen is in the armrest, so you have to stow it away during takeoff and landing.
Seating at rear means being last to get meals, last to exit plane, but extra room with 2 seats at window side and easy access to toilet. Worth selecting.
I have used this single business class seats a few times already with Austrian and I must say, it's my absolute favorite. You have a lot of space and no neighbor (when travelling alone). The seat is very comfortable and the Austrian crew makes every trip much too short.
These seats are great! Row 8 in business class is in its own little cabin, so very quiet and private, and the galley and lav were simply no problem. The red-clad flight attendants are marvelous and the food pretty darn good.
Seat 36 A has a larger space from the window and and the pillow is too small to fill the gap. That makes it not so comfortable to relax or sleep.
Good seat in premium economy, not fully flat but acceptable for long intercontinental flight.
User Helmut K. wrote, the seats of exit row 27 had no entertainment system. This is simply not true: the monitors are hidden in the armrest.
Row 14 centre, 15 side are sold as more expensive economy seats as more legroom between them and premium economy. That is wrong as there is a bulkhead, so you cannot stretch your your legs out to go to sleep. Austrian should charge less for these seats, not mis-sell them as better
I was sceptical about this seat since so close to the galley, but I found out the flight attendants are mostly using the forward galley. Had a good night sleep and can recommend this seat!
In 15C and 15H you can stretch your legs out as the aisle shifts outward while transitioning to the Premium Economy section. This is not the case For the rest of the seats in the aisle which have a wall restricting leg room. The only downside is you'll sometimes be bumped into by flight attendants walking between the two sections. Overall, however, 15C and 15H are very comfortable for economy seats.
Beware of economy class Exit Row seat rows (Row 27) in this plane type (Boeing 777-200 with 3-4-3 seat config). The seats are extremely narrow, you can't actually use the extra legroom most of the time because of other people wandering around and waiting for the nearby toilet, and the seat has NO entertainment system(!). Sleeping is literally impossible in these seats. In total this means you can watch the other people all the long haul flight time (at least 8+ hrs) going to the toilet. If you want to sit in exit row, look for flights that are operated on Boeing 767-300 planes (2-3-2 seat config, exit row seats are actually useable and comfortable in this plane type).
The sets of two at the back of the plane are phenomenal options. Theres a gap along the side where you can stash small bags or sundries during flights, and there is a lot of extra shoulder space due to the gap. The aisle seats have more aisle space (which means you're never trapped by the carts). There was a small amount of lavatory traffic, but generally people go to the mid-plane trio, leaving the lavs at the back lightly used. 9-hour flight VIE-ORD
Beware & avoid ! If you fly this plane in business, make sure you *really* understand the seat map. The rows are slightly staggered, meaning the footwell of every other row goes into the middle armrest of the row in front of it. The result is that once you put the seat in the 'bed' position, you lie in a tube that feels like a coffin with not even enough space to turn around. Horrid. This affects every other row. Also, while the food is very good, Austrian unfortunately do the same as their parent company Lufthansa and do individual service. This slows the process down significantly and results in a dinner service that takes about 3 hours.
Small legroom due yo a wall in front of seat
The seats has power. A USB port is there on the side of the screen.
Counting that the seat was bulkhead seat, the legroom was enough. However, the wall mounted magazine pocket was installed so close to the floor and taking a few inches of space that it wasn't possible fully use that legroom. It would be nice if the magazine pocket was installed about 5 inches above the floor.
I have to say, business class in Austrian Airlines is pretty good. The service was close to perfect and the food was way better than what i've seen before.
Sitting in Premium Economy was totally worth it. Good food and enough space for my rather long legs. The toilet was quite far away and there was a line for almost the entire flight. The left side of the plane should be better, there are 2 toilets. instead of one for this section.
