I have a wonderful flight , even I'm a senior my seat was comfortable & acccessible to all services(flight attendants, foods ) Recommended...
This was my first trip on Korean Air - a business flight - from SFO to Seoul, booked sight-unseen by our new travel person. I'm 6" and 210lbs and though I generally tolerate flying well, I was concerned jumping on any flight / any airline for a 12 hr trip. I have to say this flight was amazing. I could not believe I was flying economy class. Korean Air has most attentive flight staff, friendly, pleasant, a mellow boarding experience, is there really any thing more I can say without over-selling it. This was a fun experience, I'm looking forward to getting home but also excited as I know it will be a wonderful flight already.
This is the old 2-3-2 seating arrangement found of KE 777. This was a daytime flight so I didn't get the opportunity to test the full recline of these old style Prestige seat. More than adequate for a 5 hour flight but definitely prefer the new 777 layout for longer/overnight flights. No lack of legroom and seat amply wide. Like previous experiences on KE flights the IFE English movie selection is quite limited but by the same token, the service was excellent as was the food. Would fly this again in a heartbeat.
Perhaps it was my fault, because I did not book ahead for my meal preference. It was a day flight so we were served early dinner around 5:30 p.m. Malaysian time. Then later in the evening (7:30 p.m., if I recall correctly), we were served sandwiches and there was no choice for both myself and my friend who did not take beef. They had "only beef" sandwiches available and no other choices. So we had to opt out. I was expecting that the FA would have been able to offer other alternatives such as bread-and-butter or jam. But none came. It was like, ok you don't eat beef, that's it. Period. It wasn't that hospitable, if you know what I mean. I boycotted KE for 18 years before May this year. I don't think I will fly with them again (again). There are other airlines that fly to Seoul.
I have not flown in KE since 2001 after I wrote a strong complaint about ther in-flight services in the last 10 rows of their economy cabin. This was first time I was flying with KE in 18 years. Services onboard was "OK". FAs were attentive but I thought their English ability was limited (perhaps mainly because the cabin was mostly with Korean passengers). It was an over-night flight so I had very little "demands".
There is no overhead bin for this row. It is saved for airplane supplies instead so you have to put everything in the seat in front of you or in another overhead cabin. I had to hold my heavy winter coat all the way from ICN to DFW because they couldn't find a place for my jacket.
The seat was quite pleasant. Comfortable, wide and long enough for me at 5ft 11". I liked the access to the aisle. Very quiet location. I expected to hear sound from the galley behind me but did not. Am going to stick with this seat on my return from Seoul to LAX. Others have commented on the sub par IFE and headsets. Bring your own entertainment and headsets.
My seat was exit row seat 41A. Because I am 6'2" tall and weigh 280 lbs I usually like to get an exit row seat for the extra legroom. However, on my Korean Air flights I found out the exit row seats are less comfortable than their standard economy seats. The exit row seats are slightly narrower and using the tray table and entertainment system is more of a hassle. Also, this seat does not have a window. There is a conveniently placed hand grip to make it easier to stand and sit down in this seat.
I had seat 50H which is a middle seat in the Economy section. At 6"2" and 280 lbs I was surprised at how comfortable I was for a flight lasting over 12 hours. The person in front of me had their seat back fully reclined for most of the trip, intruding on my space, but it was tolerable. I did not get out of my seat the entire trip, it was that comfortable.
London to Seoul in Prestige class. I chose this seat 15H after reading review about window and middle seat passengers still having to clamber over the passenger seated next to them and glad I did as had easy aisle access. Good service and food and was amazed how well cooked the steak was. Drink service is in very small glasses and top ups could be a bit more frequent but otherwise a good flight and I would fly Korean airlines again for sure but wish they would place the 777-300 with the 747-8 that I flew from Seoul to Auckland on the next day as it is a wonderful aircraft with much more room than the 77-300
Got 10H and 10J all to myself from Toronto to Seoul on 11/30/2016. Seat was ok, a bit narrow but ok. There were 4 windows to this area and we were all asked to close them almost immediately after take off. Legroom is good, seat recline takes a bit to get used to. Entertainment is dated and old so take a book. Food was meh....not much flavor at all. Had the bibampap for lunch and I thought it was ok, not great. Had the cod (fish) for the second meal and while the fish was good the rest of it was bland. Don't ask for a second bun with your meal...you will receive a blank stare from the FAs....but generally the Service was outstanding from all of the flight attendants who meet you with a bow, leave you with a bow and constantly check on you. Obtaining additional water during the flight was easily done. Pushing the call button and they were there within seconds.
We chose this seat in order to be my husband and I together without a third passenger.Great choice if you are travelljng in couple, as you also have spare space from 51G for storage. Excellent leg room and confortable seat. It was my first time with Korean, excellent service, food and crew. Entertainment is pretty good although for Spaniards it might be difficult as no subtitles are avaliable for films (neither in English, but it is always way to revise our language skills). However, I would definitely reccomend this airline.
We had bad luck - a 777 subbed for an A380 London to Korea, the one time in weeks and it was our flight. This Prestige product, first tried in 2010, is showing its age, particularly in layout. Three abreast means you have to climb out over stretched out sleeping fellow passengers if you draw the centre seat on a crowded flight and window seat passengers similarly may have to manoeuvre over a prone aisle seat occupant. Seat itself is comfy enough with plenty of adjustment but backrest support is poor. At 5'6" i could stretch right out for sleeping and the almost-flat mattress is wide enough, just, for sleeping. Storage space is poor. Bins unuseable for takeoff/landing in the seatback in front are too far a reach and the one accessible cubby - about where your hip is - is too small and open and you risk dropping slim items like a phone or passport down into the seat mechanism. A decent, lidded bin that opens from the top and can take a laptop would be better. Western menu from London was excellent, steak in my case and plenty of drinks and food were offered. It's annoying though, if you are temporarily away from your seat, you miss out on amenity kit/headphones (good noise cancel type) when the attendant comes past - they know which seats are occupied so why not just leave the item on the seat as they pass? Overall, still an acceptable business class seat but a long way from the top - Korean now has all-aisle access on some newer planes and similar ANA and Emirates all-aisle seats are much better.
I was positively surprised by the spatious prestige class onboard this flight operated by Air Korean. The head rest is too low for me (183cm) when in upright position, other than that it did not bother me. Plenty of leg space, also the seat is much easier to access, and wider, than those on Delta-operated 777-300ERs. Seat goes full flat; not perfect for sleeping (headrest in the way), but I could turn and always find a comfortable position when padding with pillows. Staff attendance and food choice was perfect.
I was "upgraded" to this seat both on this flight and the return due to Korean Air's itinerary problems. The obstruction is severe. Don't be fooled -- the only advantage to this seat is the ability to freely get up and around. Otherwise, you are knocking into the door.
Flew 10 hours SYD to ICN in this seat. Whilst it is a business seat in so far as the recline and lie flat, it's by no means the most comfortable or private. The headrest is obviously not designed for anyone over 5'9" as when sat up for take off and landing the bottom of the headrest was digging in to my shoulders. Throughout the flight I had an achy lumbar region, only anywhere near comfortable when fully laid down. the divider between the side by side seats is small so doesn't really give you any sense of privacy from the person in 7B. These two front of cabin seats have an armrest AVOD console instead of a seat back, so you have to stow them for take off & landing. Service was very polite, but had to keep going and asking for a drink as crew were not in the cabin much. Even though this was a full day flight, the cabin windows were closed from not long after take off and within a couple of hours all the lights dimmed which was very strange for me. Overall, not bad, but not brilliant either
The galley is just right behind this seat 38C and the flight attendants stuff their bags and the amenities bag just behind the middle row so they will always be bustling around there to take things out and put things back. However the economy seats on the B777-300ER have generous legroom, even slightly more generous than the Airbus seats and the seat pitch inclines slightly more as well.
New business prestige suite for HL8011 Great surprise when boarding :)
I had seat 14H but J was open so I took it. Both were enjoyable. Plenty of room, full recline, quiet. My only complaint was with the temperature of the aircraft - they kept it slightly below sauna level throughout the flight. It had nothing to do with the seat itself. Also, the service was impeccable with great food.
the middle seat in business class for this 77w is super awkward. It just squeezes you in between two adults. the width was just like another coach seat, but the length was great. #Why232existsinbizclass
