All economy seats on Qantas 737-800 are a disgrace. 30" pitch is horrific. Avoid this aircraft in economy if at all possible.
Seat 9 is worse than a bad seat. A flat wall replaces a window without the space of even a window surround or sill. If charges are made for the extra comfort of exit seating a reduction should be made for sitting in a small, dark space.
Had this seat on a early morning flight BNE-CNS. Leg room was not bad but the tray in the arm rest was broken so the arm rest was in a partially open position. For IFE I was given an ipad which had a fair selection of entertainment but not as much as on the 777-300 I was on previously from LAX. On my return flight, CNS-BNE I was in 1A and these bulkhead seats have slightly less leg room. There was no IFE on this flight. And they call this first class? The food was mediocre on both flights and the aircraft was well worn. The FA's on the other hand were most attentive. Too bad VA can't do domestically what they do so well trans-Pacific.
Avoid this seat. Not only does it not have a window but you also have less space as the fuselage wall juts into the seat/elbow space.
Seat is ok but flight need to be clean. you can see the dust from air condition outs. food(breakfast) was horrible. in contrast staff is nice
Had this seat from POM-BNE. IFE controls were in the seat arm and IFE was standard for all main cabin seats. Seat had excellent leg room but did not recline. Don't know if that was a problem with this individual seat or is standard in exit row.
The plane is cramped as every other passenger mentioned. This seat seems to have even less leg room than those around, and due to some necessary part of the plane being under this seat I only got half the underneath space expected. Could not use my laptop at all because I couldn't easily get my bag out from under the seat.
Absolutely the worst type of plane flying around, small compact and congest seating arrangement not to mention extremely uncomfortable seats, extremely noisy too and rough ride. Too bad they are cheap, so airlines love it, they are all over the world like a nasty cockroach
Agree with other comments. Economy seats are cattle class at its worst. The 737 is only OK for flights of up to 2.5 hours. BNE to PER is 5.5 hours. Seats way too cramped & uncomfortable for this length of time. Only 3 toilets is not enough. Long queues 2nd half of flight & they stank. On this route often at max. takeoff weight, mediocre performing 737 struggles up to 32,000ft. doesn't fly high enough to get above turbulence for most of the trip. Really miss the A330's that used to fly BNE to PER at 39,000 to 41,000 ft. Lots more leg room and usually smooth flying above the weather.
Seat and crew were fine for an hour flight, just Brisbane to Sydney. However, the service at the airport with Qantas is a disgrace. Boarding delayed because they could not open the door leading to the jetbridge and 40 minutes to get my bag after an hour-long flight. Virgin Australia has gained a new customer.
This plane should not be used on flights of more than 2 hours. It is very cramped. Pitch of 30 is so tight. The seats uncomfortable and you never know if you will have entertainment or not. You need your own tablet if seat back Tvs not available. I fly weekly to Melbourne and back. ( Gold FF) This is by far the worse plane. Unfortunately they now use it on the Singapore to Perth route. We will be flying Scoot on that route. New derailments with a better pitch and more comfortable seats. DO NOT fly on this plane. Qantas should be ashamed of using it on International flights and domestic of more than 2 hours and even that would be difficult to endure.
Great seat. Exceptional service. Good recline despite bulkhead behind separating Business and Economy.
This seat is terrible. It has no seat pocket storage. It has no overhead storage. It has a miniature tray and a screen-on-a-stick. No way can you work. Or have your possessions to hand. Might suit long-legged person willing to sacrifice comfort for the usual amenities.
These are the most uncomfortable aircraft seats I have ever flown in, and I have flown budget airlines around the world. I'm 190cm and my knees were jammed hard into the seat in front in an extremely uncomfortable way. The headrest is way too low and the seat has no lumbar support. I flew two days ago and my knees and back are still aching.
The 737 is an absolute shocker. There is more room on a Sydney suburban bus. Qantas should be selling these seats at heavily discounted price. Even the $25 million man would be cramped in this cabin. Will NEVER fly Qantas 737. To be avoided at all costs. A disgrace for our national carrier to fly this plane on flights of more than 90 minutes. May be good for the shareholders but, at this rate, can only lose custom to the main competitor or the no frills crowd. There are no frills on a Qantas 737.
I am tall and usually can squeeze into tight airplane seats but not this one. A 30 inch pitch, leprechauns from Joyces country might fit but 6 foot Aussies, forget it. Steer clear of this plane it is a rip off. Qantas is killing the goose that lays the golden egg. I'll fly budget next time the seats are 32 inch.
I am 5'6" i had no leg room my knees were hitting the seat in front of me,the seats were narrow and very uncomfortable, narrow isle and you keep getting bumped by staff, there is no where to stretch out tiny plane won't fly Qantas on this route again,PS meals are in a cupboard container!!!!! really Qantas
Omg i never notice the plane model i fly on but this was bad enough for me to want to ensure i never fly on a boeing 737 again. There was no leg room, 163 cm so short, but this was the worse seat ever, cramped, uncomfortable and unsuitable for a six hour flight. I would pay extra for leg room if forced to fly on this again... i get saving money, but did anyone from Qantas actually sit in these seats before saying lets buy it!
Row 6 appears to have a much tighter pitch than other nearby rows on Qantas's 30-row 737-800. Avoid it!
The worst seat on an aircraft ever. At 6'2" I am not oversize but could not sit without my legs wide & could not put my feet flat, easily. Head rest too low, Seat did not recline (Neither did 12A or C) Row 11 reclined & screen impossible to see clearly. Eating near impossible. Off to the Chiropractor tomorrow. Food good & flight good...just bloody seating.
