The seat was comfortable with a well adjusted footrest. The food and drink was good and delivered by friendly helpful air attendants. Will never travel cattle class again on long haul and would hope to be able to try business class sometime!
The Business Configuration is an absolute disaster. Worst experience ever. Either you climb or you are being climbed over. Also very little storage is available near the seat. It is dark and unpleasant. When food is delivered and you are sitting in the middle, the divider is opened which is also annoying for the guest in the opposite seat. Also, two toilets for almost 30 passangers is a problem. You can see that the people that designed this configuration and more the ones that approved it, have never used it! Advise: find another airline/plane!
if travelling together as a couple, choose the two seats upstairs ie 2-4-2 config. No clambering over strangers, the upstairs 'duo' are good value, lots of additional storage at the side in window bulkhead bins. Yes there is an entertainment box on the floor, but with the additional floor space at the side of the seats, this is not a problem, plus, upstairs, you tend to get lesser families/children!
This seat has plenty of room. It has a lot of adjustments to recline and lumbar support, and extends to a flat bed. The table folds away nicely and moves backwards and forwards to create room. The TV pops out of the adjoining seat structure and I was able to pass it it get out without closing it. There is a small draw to put nick nacks. The big downside for this seat is that it is close to the toilet. My wife was in 15B an sometimes there were several people queueing for the toilet, and she felt uncomfortable with this. Seat 15 A has aisle access behind the 15B seat which is a benefit. Another downside is that the seat is right over the huge wing so the view out of the widow wasn't good. I'll get some good earplugs for our next trip, because these are decent seats except for proximity to the toilet. Service from the crew was exceptional. Food was served as if in a restaurant and it was lovely and very tasty
Ein sehr angenehmer Sitzplatz mit genug Stauraum an der Fensterwand, toller Service, hat alles gepasst.
Dreadful seat. There's a large open landing area in front of the seat leading to the toilets and the stairs down to First. At the right hand side of the seat is the wardrobe where passengers come and hang clothes. The landing is shielded by a curtain after take off. If it isn't clipped into the bulkhead in front of seat 50D people going to/from the toilets pull the curtain wide open and leave it resulting in a gale coming up the stairs. If it is clipped into position they come through the middle of the curtain and walk into your outstretched legs. Finally there's no storage space or a self to put thing other than drawer at foot level.
Slight restriction on legroom due to a metal box under the seat infront but with quite a large side locker to put all your belongings in you are not taking up this legroom with handbag size hand luggage. Worked well for me.
Bizarre that this seat is marked red. It is true that there is no window, and you don't have the side bins that the other window seats have upstairs. BUT there is absolutely acres of space in front of you, as you are by a large emergency exit door. So if you want a feeling of space, it's great. Better than Premium economy in that respect
The flight & aircraft wre great . Its a beautiful air craft & very roomy & comfortable . Would love to fly on it again.
50J is on the aisle and very close to curtain by toilet. As it is narrow to pass here many people use the top of the seat as a handrail as they pass by ,consequently rocking the chair. The curtain opening is tricky to find and passengers grapple around next to the seat trying to find it. Then they leave the curtain open causing draught and noise to be a problem
We always try to book exit seats for the legroom, wife tall, me generally larger! +Lots of space, not too much toilet traffic, -no window, no cubbyhole to put books/electronic devices. Pull out table was small and too close to my stomach + a bit of a faf to pack and unpack. Liked the position and space to spread out. Have booked same seats for our next flight😃
We were moved from the right side two seats to two of the middle three (upper deck business class) due to a flight change by BA, on the first leg to London we had the two far right seats facing in opposite directions which were inconvenient for myself in the widow seat facing backwards, as the bed is difficult to make up, all food and drinks were served over my wife and accessing the toilet once my wife was sleeping was difficult, however on the return trip to Jhb I had the middle seat of the three and all food and drinks were served over a stranger on my right even after she fell asleep, other difficulties incurred on the first leg were worse on the second leg. I will NEVER fly BA again if they continue with this seating configuration
A380 first class seat. Roomy, if a little old fashioned. Layout could be much better but very comfy for an overnight or long flight.
These two seats under the neon blue glowing light. That is not switched off during flight. If you are sensitive to light avoid if you are planning on sleeping
Excellent
I had seat 52K and my son had 53K upper deck. I had no storage except one little storage compartment. No place to put anything. It was very small. seat was small and I am not a huge person. My son is a fair size man, and he was crammed into a small seat. he at least had a side area next to the window to put things. the seat only layed down with the seat back. the feet were an ottoman from the seat in front of me. very uncomfortable. very small. The service was very good. FA were wonderful very attentive. But for the money I paid and the miles I used for the upgrade, I was very disappointed. I will not fly BA again if I can help it. I did fly back on BA, a 777. And it was the same. same type of plane.no difference.
I had 14J and my son had 14K. This plane even though it's a 777 was the same as the 388. no difference. No room. no side tables no storage. small seats. whole seat does not lie down, only seat back. pull ottoman down from seat in front of you. very small. very uncomfortable. FA were wonderful. . But over all very disappointed in plane. I flew last year with American, on a 777 and the difference is astounding@! Lot's of room, complete seat that repositions and lies down. lot's of room, lots of storage. Will not fly BA again if I can help it.
68D and 68F are directly adjacent to the lavatory (not in front or behind). This means that it is impossible to sleep as you are literally 40cm from the lavatory door opening and closing. It is also a push door which means that it rarely closes automatically. These seats should not be classed "premium" in any sense.
The whole rear section of the upper deck of AB380 (rows 80-83) has much smaller (50% less) overhead storage for carry on bags. I guess the plane fuselage narrows at this point. So hard to find a place to store your bag if you are last on, and if first on late comers abuse existing bags trying to get their's in!
I was more than disappointed by the food that was served .My steak was so boiled I could cut it with my knife . The way the food presented was very unappealing. I suppose I was used to another top quality premier class food and service. . The breakfast tea was served in a take away cup which was also disappointing - no second cup was offered I any of the meals - not even a glass of orange was offered . The breakfast was disgusting. Overall not a good experience. Staff were nice.
