I was returning from stateside travel and after three days of travel, the final leg of my flight was from Frankfurt to Bahrain (on 8/3/20; GF 16, seat 11C). From the time I stepped on the plane, I was greeted with a jovial smile, which automatically lifted my fatigued spirit. Ms. Houda, senior cabin staff member, continued to warmly greet each customer and make sure they were comfortable. She went above and beyond when, about halfway through the six-hour flight, my feet began to drastically swell, much to my alarm and discomfort. Ms. Houda allowed me to stretch out in one of the empty back rows where she proceeded to massage my feet and ankles!! I was floored! She applied medicated cooling wraps, hydrocortisone cream, and even wrapped my feet with gauze. She emphasized with me as she told me how she often has foot swelling and offered her sage advice on elevating and soaking my feet once I returned home. I still can’t believe how attentive she was while she still performed her regular duties masterfully. What a fabulous person! I thank Houda from the bottom of my heart for her selfless acts and genuine kindness. By the way, her suggestion were just the panacea I needed because my feet and ankles are no longer swollen. I don’t remember much about the flight or the performance of the other flight attendants, but Gulf Air is a winner due to flight staff and leaders of Houda’s caliber. I highly recommend Gulf Air for future travel.

Im so dessapoint for your service it not enough and not comportable. To fly with you.
Gulf Air refused to board me and my family. They refused to give reason of refusal in writing. Verbally they told it is advise from Bahrain office. We had valid family visa and traveled 3 days later on a different airline. Gulf Air further applied cancellation charges. They never responded to my complaint lodged at their site.

When we travelled we loved the screen and the fact there were comfortable seats and friendly 😁 staff
We have been flying with Gulf air for almost 8 years, usually at least once per year in business class to varying destinations, and they were generally quite good at getting us where we wanted to go, on time, and in relative comfort (ratings for in flight information is based on our previous experiences). That was until our trip to Thailand earlier this year. We traveled from Bahrain to Phuket in mid February, with no issues. The flight was essentially on time, relatively comfortable, and got us there. We were scheduled on a return flight on March 10th, but due to COVID-19, we decided to cut the vacation short, as borders were starting to close. We spoke to an agent on March 2nd, who immediately changed our ticket to the following day, and gave no notice of any restrictions on landing in Bahrain from Thailand (at a charge of $150US). We showed at the airport more than 3 hours before the flight, just in case of any complications. We were advised at the check-in desk that passengers originating from Thailand were not allowed to land in Bahrain, even if just in transit. We could see on their system that the ban had been implemented over a week prior, but we had not been advised when we rescheduled the flight. We then spent almost an hour on the phone with customer service (long distance from a mobile phone which ended up costing nearly $400US). After much discussion, the only offer they provided was to refund that leg of the trip, and that the supervisor on duty was 'too busy' to assist with investigating any further options, effectively stranding us in Thailand. I had no choice but to agree, and find another way home. We ended up finding a flight on Emirates (who were extremely helpful) through the UAE, but it ended up costing approximately an additional $4,000US for business class seats, and departed more than 10 hours later. We finally arrived back 'home' (Canadians living in Saudi), and I patiently waited for the refund. After more than 3 months, it had still not been credited to my account. I contacted their customer service department, who advised us that in their records, we were recorded as a no-show, and that we would not be receiving a refund. I provided additional information, and it has simply been forwarded to another department. I do not know if I will ever receive a refund (which will likely be around $1,500US, if I even receive it at all), but we will certainly not travel with them again.
I’ll advice everyone to never book in this airlines, what they did to us hundreds of people is inhumane. Taking advantage of people during pandemic is a lack of conscience! Showing availability of flights when they knew it’s impossible to fly and even they don’t have permit in the airport as restrictions were applied. They just take money and that’s it. Customer service are very rude! Flight cancellations for the 4th & 7th times already, they’ll advice to rebook and later on cancelled it. I even beg for refund but they keep on making so many reasons. Blah blah, It’s very depressing for us who have lost our job since march and the only hope we have is for gulfair to fly us back home. But everything is just a dream, because they’ve lied to us and all the people for flight resumptions when there isn’t exact date. Karma will really find it’s way to you gulfair in behalf of all the people that you’ve caused trouble!
Dont flight with Gulf Air. Gulf air is not responsible company!!!!! CANCELLED FLIGHT ALERT: Flight GF0766 from BAH on 01 Jul 2020 at 15:10 has been cancelled. Visit gulfair.com or contact +97317373737 for support.
Please do not use gulf air, their service is terrible and do not keep you informed. I was travelling for a holiday with my family and they did not inform me the flight has been delayed. They kept us in a hotel and my father is disabled they did not provide the correct room suitable for him. They did not provide a meal. My parents are both on medication they need to have food on time. We asked them if we could purchase some food they refused. I made a complaint and requested a refund, iv chased them up several times to only hear they will get back to me. Iv been waiting 6months for a refund now. Still nothing. Falcon flyers get the best service economy flyers are treated like rubbish.
I flew with Gulfair in February with my husband and 2 young children. The sky nanny that is a selling point is basically non existent! Other passengers were far more welcoming and loving towards my children than any of the crew were. We even asked if there was one on board half way through our return flight and the flight attendant replied ‘yes that’s me’ and at no point had she acknowledged any children on board the flight. Our child meals that were 100% ordered were not delivered and despite having evidence of this I have been told otherwise. The emails have gone on for months now with me providing solid evidence that there was an error on their part and I have got nowhere! No apology or even acknowledgement of the error. I received a rude and abrupt email yesterday telling me that this is an end to their correspondence and no accountability will be taken for their error! It’s a disgrace that they do not care in the least about their customers experience or that two 4 year olds went without their meal. I will never fly this airline again and I would not recommend it to anyone travelling with children who are impressed by the image of how they care for children on their flights, which is entirely false!
My flight from Bangkok to Istanbul was changed and I ended up spending a full night in Bahrain airport which is dreadful and something I would never want to repeat. I can understand that the return flight will not go ahead, they are now saying they will book one for me does anybody know if I can get a refund? they told me no as I had already used one half of the ticket, I do not want to spend another night in a place that deprives you of any form of sleep and do not trust the airline as the last time the flight was changed with 2 days notice I paid 150 usd extra for the short connection once again they said I was not entitled to a refund of the extra money paid.
I flew with Gulf Air from Bahrain to London on September 2019, it wasn't a pleasant flight due to long ques, slow service, clear lack of manpower in the airport, and abysmal treatment in the plane (had to wait 1/2 hour to get a pillow for my child). I wasn't planning to utilize that airlines again, but unfortunately, due to lack of other options, I had to book my flight back on March 30th, 2020 through Gulf Air to Dammam, Saudi Arabia. But then travel restrictions to Saudi from Bahrain were imposed, and I had to cancel my flight. Even though their official website refund policy states that the refund cost is 10BD (30 USD), and it would take no more than 1 month to be completed. I was informed that it would cost a 100BD (350USD) penalty, and would take 2-3 months to be processed. So far, it's been a month and a half, and still the refund amount wasn't returned to my account. By the way, when I called to cancel the flight, it was an international call, and I had to wait on-hold for approximately 25 minutes until someone responded. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this airlines to anyone, and I will still pursue my refund amount, as I heard from a friend that he never got his refund even after 3 months for his flight.
Gulf air ways is worse cusotmer services orientained airline in a way of ticketing and extra services where they have hidden polices . Based on my personal experience with there CS. Please be very care full buying tickets and extra services from them . Recomendation is to go with better ranking air line if you want to travel with peace and comfort.
I enjoy flying on Gulf Air, friendly environment, cost effective, on time and the transit is nice because the airport has a nice duty free and great coffee shops.
London to Bahrain in Business Class , Having flown their A330's before, I was looking forward to experience the difference in their 787's. Firstly, the seat is a 2x2x2 configuration, with open suite style seating. The window seats (which I chose), offered privacy once the screen was raised up. And every seat has direct aisle access. The seat is fabulous, comfortable, with all the adjustments including a massage function, except for the headphone socket which was a difficult to see as it was hidden in a darker area by the seat. I loved the windows, which could be darken and lightened. There is little storage space, but if you were not stretching out to a full flat bed, the front area underneath the TV monitor allowed for an ample storage area. The Amenity Kit was basic, but they did provide PJ's even on the daylight flights. However, the IFE is very limited, with a small selection of movies and programmes. Service was a mixed bag. While welcoming and friendly, the cabin crew were non-engaging, instead providing the service in a professional and swift manner. There were the usual welcome drinks including champagne, with top ups offered, dates, Arabic Coffee and hot & cold towels throughout. I still cannot get over the gimmick of the onboard chef, as I just cannot see the advantage - and wish they didn't take the menus away. I wanted to see the wine list again, but was offered just red or white (two choices), but didn't see the bottle nor was I able to taste first. These are little glitches Gulf Air should address to improve their product to near perfection. The food in general was very tasty and I love their signature dish of Lamb Shank, proper afternoon Cream Teas and so on. I had to curtail my trip due to the pandemic, and the return flight was understandably basic. No hot food, no pillows, no blankets, PJ's etc and disposable plastic cutlery.
Not having a choice for this flight but would never use them again. Cabin crew miserable, unhelpful, food was a disgrace what there was of it. No hot drinks offered or any drinks for that matter, the snack box meal was a chicken sandwich, a chic pea salad, water and nothing else, this was on flight from Mumbai to Bahrain. The next flight was overnight from Bahrain to UK with no blankets, no earphones, uncomfortable seats, toilets a disgrace, lack of communication from cabin crew when you saw them. Food again was inedible and again lack of drinks offered by cabin crew. Would never consider using Gulf Air this being the national carrier, word fail me.
I was traveling from Paris to Delhi via Bahrain on 17th March. While boarding at Paris, the management said that your flight from Bahrain to Delhi has been cancelled. The management said don't worry we will transfer you to some other airlines. When we reached Bahrain, Gulf Air was helpless, they left us stranded for 18 hours without food and accommodation and they made us wait for 18 hours and then transferred us in GF134 on 18th March next day at 14:15. After that, we were 11 passengers travelling from Paris, out of 11, 9 were given business class upgrade and me and other Indian guy was left out. Asking for my rights is a crime? It was so humiliating, but I'm proud of my identity and I decided I will never fly this airline again.
I was traveling from Paris to Delhi via bahrain on 17th March at 11:10. While boarding at Paris, the management said that your flight from Bahrain to Delhi at 22:30 on 17th March (gf130) has been cancelled. The management said don't worry we will transfer you to some other airlines on the same day,we have connections with other airlines so don't worry. When we reached bahrain, GulfAir administration was helpless, the left us stranded for 18 hours without food and accommodation and they made us wait for 18 hours and then transferred us in other flight that was gf 134 next day on 18th March 14:15. After that,we were 11 passengers travelling from Paris, out of 11, 9 were given business class upgrade because of all happened and when I decided to ask them why I am being left out and when I talked to them the steward used racial slurs against me and they will throw me out of the plane and said I'm committing a crime they will put me in jail. Asking for my rights is a crime ? This only made difference because I'm a brown . The situation would have different for me if I was white. It was so humiliating, but I'm proud of my identity and I decided I will Never fly into this airline again. May God bless them.
This as a 2 flight journey with a change at Bahrain, travelling in a group of 5 including my 2 young grandchildren shed 8 and 10. We were all very happy with all aspects of the flight, from check in to level of service, boarding, change of flights etc. all went smoothly. My grandchildren loved the children's packs they received . My 6'3" son in law had been anxious beforehand about being cramped but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of leg room. Although the entertainment had less choice than some of the larger airlines, it was more than sufficient. I have made many long haul flights but for the rest of my group it was their first experience and we were all very happy with how it all went. Thanks to Gulf Air, will definitely use again and do recommend.
Starting from the web-checkin process to the disembarking process, it feels like a budget airlines. However, the prices are same as any other top middle-eastern airline like Emirates or Qatar. They ask you to pay for seats if you want to choose them before 24 hrs of the flight, the web-checkin process is flaky - sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't, the seats are super narrow and uncomfortable, food is terrible, service not so friendly and poor in-flight entertainment system (does not work and limited choices). I will avoid it unless you get tickets for a very good price.
