Disgraceful company. Booked flights for April which were cancelled by the airline. Refund applied for in May and 3 months later still no refund. Their approach to the pandemic appears to be sticking their head in the sand and pretending it's not happening. I've flown them before and they certainly weren't bad but not in the same league as other middle Eastern carriers. I would never recommend them to anyone after this though, no matter how cheap the flights. Terrible, terrible airline.
The worst airline i ever experienced. No customer service or satisfied refund policy. They just refuse and sit on your money. Dont book or give them money they are the Black hole of the industry suck everybody into their misery.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis they cancelled the flights we had booked. However despite months and months of contacting them they have refused to issue any refunds. After struggling with them they finally agreed to allow us to re-book our flights for the same time the following year explaining that we would simply need to pay any additional cost of seats available. As the flights for the same time next year had been made available online through travel agents and direct on Omanair.com I explained I would like to undertake the rescheduling now so that I could secure my reschedule and avoid paying a higher cost when there was less availability. The airline explained that they would not allow me to reschedule my flights until Muscat Airport was fully reopened. Yet they would allow new passengers to book flights via travel agents and direct on their website. I explained to customer services that this was unfair and meant that I may not be able to take them up on the reschedule they have offered me and would have to pay an inflated price if availability was later limited. They advised that it was their rule. They have continued to offer ever more frequent “special flights” but without committing to allowing people to reschedule their previously cancelled flights. Having been a frequent user of Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and with this being my first experience of Oman Air I cannot recommend them in anyway. Stop playing games and making false promises. Please give me my money back or let me reschedule my flights.
Oman Air only will refund in 12 months after the ticket was issued even if the flight is cancelled by the airline!! I have booked for a flight Doha-KL via Muscat on 10 June 2020 and OA has cancelled the flight due to Covid-19. First they says as a goodwill, they are offering a rebooking at no extra charges but only fare difference will be applicable (if any) and for the cash refund they can do it but only after 12 months as per the company policy! The goodwill they are offering is not a goodwill as the ticket category I book allow rebooking at any time so it is not a “goodwill”. What happen if my new ticket is of a lower value? Will they refund it? No It is not stated in their website or in the ticket term and condition that state the 12 months refund. I will be surprised if what they are doing is considered lawful or approve by any aviation authority. Many airlines are going through trouble time but to do this will only affect their future business more than now. When everything is back to normal no one will ever trust or want to use their service again. I am for sure one of them.
Our flight was cancelled due to COVID-19 but we were never notified by the airline- I only found out because I called before the flight to check on my flight status. They told us to contact the 'Websalesrefund' email address requesting a refund but we have only received automated responses that are ambiguous, such as 'We offer to keep your flight open'. We believe that we are eligible for a refund however we have not received any clear guidance on if we can get a refund or how we can access credit. The call centre tells us to email, and the email responses tell us to call. It has been almost two months and I don't know if we will ever get our money back. All the other airlines that we had bookings with in May and June (such as Vueling, Scoot and Easyjet) have given us refunds. Oman is the only airline that has used tactics to confuse us and ignore us. Unless we are given assurance that we will receive our refund or credit, I will never fly Oman Air and will not recommend it.
This grievance took place before COVID crisis in which my mother's flight was delayed long enough for the airline to offer a compensation in line with EC261/2004 Regulation as final settlement on 4th Feb 2020. But we have received nothing to date. The last correspondence we got from the airline was back on 10th March with a representative stating that the payment would be made in the following week but we got neither payment nor any kind of response for their end , even though we reached out to them many times. Disgraceful and unfair.
This will be the last im flying with @omanairofficial Not going to choose and recommend it! My flight on 14 March from Muscat to Kuala Lumpur via WY 823 has been cancelled without any prior notice. When i was at Istanbul airport at 10pm on 13March the Oman Air Check In Desk didnt inform anything on the changes but i realized the boarding pass for my next flight was changed to WY 821 with etd at 2115 hrs instead of WY 823 with etd 0845 hrs. It means the transit which originally only 2 hours became more than 12 hours! I chose Oman Air at the beginning even Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines and KLM were offering slightly cheaper fare but due to the long transit, i decided to go with Oman Air. I approached the Duty Manager at the Oman Air Counter at Istanbul Airport but he gave me the respond, 'how do i know that u dont know the changes'? We arrived at Muscat Airport and me and other 20plus pax of Malaysian passangers went to the Customer Service Counter to ask for the flight cancellation. They are responsible to provide us the necessity. But Oman Air declined our request for meals (bf, ln&dn) or room for us to rest at least access to utilize their lounge. They called police officer to handle us due to we were not accepting the fact as the Oman Air will not provide anything. No legit info given to us about the cancellation. They gave us 1001 excuses! Asked for their Duty Manager to come to meet us but the guy arrogantly raised his voice told us everyone at the CS counter are the manager with expression of disparaging us. After an hour discussion then the Duty Manager gave a promise that we will be given breakfast, lunch and dinner but we have to come to get the lunch stamp at 2pm. It was fishy as we asked him to give us the lunch and dinner stamps all together but he kept saying its not possible as we have to get it later and keep telling he has integrity and not a cheater. At 2 pm, we came to the counter again but the staff told us the Duty Manager is not around and no lunch and dinner stamp to be given. They made their passanger like a beggar! Dont fly with #OmanAir the cabin was filthy, too salty meal given & my seat the entertainment was not avail. And yeah.. They sent me email about the cancellation on the 14 March at 2.29 am. I was in the flight from Istanbul to Muscat. Too late already! #NoResponsibility
Due to Covid 19 my flight got cancelled.. I was not even informed but ifcourse I knew as India was in lockdown Than tried to get a refund ..... Send about 10 mails got no response 11th mail said they would keep the ticket open for 18 months That is ofcourse useless to me as I got home with a repatriation flight Again 10 or more mails went unanwsered only got a # number. Now finally after 4 months got s reply that I can use the money from the ticket on any destination in the next 24 months ( no date change fee but fare difference will be chharged) but if I want a cash refund I have to wait a year ( company policy) Useless costumer service hopeless communication. When they fly they are good but idf any problem arrises they are hopeless.
Oman Air is, quite simply, a complete and utter disgrace. The airline treats its guests with complete contempt. Flights from Amman to Muscat and back were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and they are refusing to refund, instead keeping my money (and that of countless other customers) when planes did not even take off. The airline has adopted a policy of hoping customers will stop pestering them so they can keep their money without providing a service. They refuse to help on the phone (or hang up on you) and direct you to an e-mail address. An automatic reply to all e-mails says you may have to wait 15 days for a reply. If you get a reply, they do not help or address any questions you have asked. It is just a copy and paste response. When you reply again, you get the same automatic message saying to wait 15 days. It is a system which seems like it has been purposely designed to annoy and frustrate. I specifically put several times I did not want a voucher or to keep the ticket open, and requested a full refund as is my legal right. This was repeatedly ignored as they kept offering to keep the ticket open. On one occasion I was told to fill out an online form to process my refund. I did this, and eventually got a reply again offering me to keep the ticket open. They eventually said that as per their terms and conditions, I would be paid 12 months after the tickets were booked. So they want to use people's money as an interest free loan. I asked several times where in the terms and conditions it says this and was repeatedly ignored. The reason for this is it is not in the terms and conditions. I also have no faith they will repay the money after this time. I was really looking forward to visiting Oman but my impression of the country is now permanently damaged because of the airline which represents them.
Oman Air is really a boutique airline with a very good service. We partly had the old seat configuration with 1-2-1 which I love, as the single seats make you feel like you are in first class, partly we had the new configuration where you have 2-2-2 configuration but every seat has its own aisle access in business class. The service and the food on board is very good and also the entertainment systems is one of the better ones.
We all understand about cancellations in this troubled time due to Covid 19 but try and get any sense from Oman Air firstly they cancel my homeward trip OK I understand however the email read your flight is cancelled see web site for details That was a laugh web site had no details at all so I phoned he said its a web booking you have to go online I said no detail online he said he knows but he cant help I asked for a refund he said you have to write a email Sent a email they replied said yes you can have a refund but not until December or you can opt to rebook, I asked why I had to wait they said company policy, as I couldnt be bothered I tried to re book so went on line again and tried booking for 31st July, no problem booking on line I thought any way they said its a more expensive flight you need to pay 126 riyal about 270 Euro I thought ok Ill do it and proceeded to pay via my debit card went through all the security confirmed payment then yes and wait for it wait longer and then nothing no changed booking just my card 270 Riyal lighter I phoned and spoke to a lovely lady who explained you cant rebook cause we dont know when we can fly I asked then why did the website accept my booking and take my money she had no idea Oman air when its in the air is OK but have money issues or ticket problems then they are the worst I have ever delt with My family all had tickets to come visit earlier in the year their flights cancelled understandably however try and get a refund they were absolutely refused and given opportunity to rebook for a trip that we will never all be free for again so several thousand Euro basically ripped off by Oman Air, Whatever you do do not trust this Company with your money
Omanair has canceled my parents's return ticket which it was in Apr/2020 . To return my parents with other available airlines I called Omanair Sydney customer service and no luck with any helpful information then I had to contact Oman directly and again no luck in getting any new offer or any compensation or refund or even credit to get a return ticket for my parents. We have sent them many times so many massges and emails but they have not evwn tried to correspond with me by email . Overal it's a terrible airline and don't risk it and don't waste your money and time .
I would not recommend Oman Air to anyone. First, in the past I have flown on their planes. The amenities on board are less than subpar and the planes are old. You are being charged an average economy flight price for budget airline service. Second, I purchased insurance for my flight with Oman Air. COVID-19 erupted and that flight was cancelled. I told their department I purchased insurance to get a refund for the ticket and that was the option I wanted to chose. The phone department said you can only contact the refund department by email. I emailed the refund department very clearly with my intent. They emailed me back insisting I change my ticket to an open ticket. I said I wanted a refund. I have been back and forth with their phone customer service and email department for 3 months now and still have not receive a refund. The most recent email said I would receive my refund within the next 12 months!!! There are hotels I had to cancel without cancellation insurance that gave me a full refund, no hassle. Furthermore, I said it would be acceptable for them to apply my ticket as a credit towards one of the expatriation flights being offered. The person in customer service handling that just stopped replying to my messages rather than assisting me. In the time of this pandemic, we should judge companies like these harshly for unethical, immoral, unprofessional and illegal behavior. I will never take Oman Air again. I will never recommend anyone book with this airline company. They must be held accountable.
I used this airline back in feb , have been offline for quite some time after the pandemic hit the world. It was a cold treatment of passengers with no smile at all from the cabin crew. Passengers could request for help but were just passed by or ignored rather. I asked for a bottle of water so as to avoid disturbing for more water, but the chain crew never gave it to me even after requesting for another time. So I didn't want to be a bother and stayed quite through my flight. The cabin was good, Flight was good, Food was good, The planes kept time promptly, Except the cabin crew attitude which I feel needs a lot of work to improve on. Thank you.
I booked a flight to fly in March and it got cancelled and I have asked for a refund several times and they keep telling me I have to wait a year. This is not good enough as I need my money and there is nothing in oman air condition of carriage that says I have to wait a year to get a refund. Very very poor customer service considering they keep telling everyone how many awards they have won. I also had a flight cancelled with gulf air got my money back in a month.
Absolutely horrendous. Canceled our return flight. Didn't tell us. Waited at airport until 5am dealing with staff. They ordered us a taxi home, which never came. Returned to desk to find they had closed. Finally offered compensation in February, to which I agreed, and no correspondence since. Do not fly with this airline. They caused huge distress, showed no customer care whatsoever, and essentially lied about compensation. Never ever again.
Most appalling company policy for refunds especially covid-19 related ones. You can not talk to an actual human being it is all done by email or online submission where you just get a stock response of a future travel voucher. I had 9 separate requests over 3 months go back & forth where I refused the voucher. They then said I could do a full cash refund but will only refund it after 12 months of the booking date. What type of awful company does that? In the end I got my credit card company to issue a chargeback against them which took 2 weeks. Luckily I’ll never have to deal with Oman Air again
I was due to fly from London Heathrow to Kochi, India at Easter 2020 when my flights were cancelled by Oman Air and they are refusing to give me a refund which is actually illegal under EU261 law. They are only offering to reschedule flights valid for 18 months from date of issuance or a voucher. They haven't clarified what date of issuance means but I think it means date you originally purchased tickets which as I booked my flights a long time in advance does not give me very long to use them. Currently not allowed to travel anyway due to current FCO guidance. A voucher or rescheduled flights is an unacceptable form of compensation when I have requested a cash refund. I emailed them to say I wanted a refund and they said "we are unable to refund as per the updated policy". They have not been able to specify what their updated policy was. On their facebook page they have put a notice "for more information on our enhanced rebooking & refund policy please refer to our website". I went on their website and it still states "refunds may also be requested". Well if they may be requested, they should be able to issue a refund. It's within their refund & rebooking policy, it's the law and yet they are currently refusing to honour a refund. I do not advise anyone to book with them. I have read lots of complaints online recently of other people having similar issues with their poor customer service and they're refusal to give refunds.
Due to a 'technical fault', Oman Air cancelled my flight to Muscat and I consequently missed the connecting flight to Jaipur where I was due to attend a friend's wedding. This was all pre-lockdown. They did put us up in a hotel for the night, but when I got back and logged a complaint online to try and get the 600 euro compensation I am legally owed according to EU law, they took a month to reply and offered me travel vouchers. I rejected this and asked for money instead. Here we are, 3 months later, and I haven't had a single response via email. The customer services team over the phone just fob me off by asking for my details and saying they'll 'get back in touch' and never do. I've raised a complaint with the ADR, but they haven't responded to that either! It's clear from all the complaints on here that this is a common theme. I know airlines are busy, but I am particularly annoyed because my cancellation was nothing to do with coronavirus and yet they STILL haven't given me my money. They don't care about their customers.
Booked flights, flights gets cancelled by Oman air, could not speak with customer service, when I did could do nothing apart from contact via email, ignored for months, promised refund, then went silent again, now refusing all communication, 1st time ever booked with Oman air will never book again, Emirates or Qatar in future Oman treat its European customers with contempt they refund omanis but the rest of the world can go to hell, will be taking to court soon if you want poor service, no flight, to be ignored, to loose your money then book with Oman air shameful on the country of Oman
